I think the more she found out about being a Kitsune and the connection to her Asian heritage (her mom Noshiko is Japanese and her father Ken is Korean), it influenced how she redecorated her bedroom.
There are a lot of really cool and interesting things in her room and it's also very organized and has a minimalist feel. I think her room has a more grown-up and sophisticated feel than how it was previously decorated. Yet it's still fun and youthful, below are few things I noticed about Kira's bedroom.
Artwork
This cherry blossom artwork is so beautiful and adding a frame turns it into a total statement piece. I like how the frame doubles as mini shelves and you can see that she's placed quite a few small knick-knacks on it. There's another piece of artwork near the closet, it's a framed painting of a gray fox. It feels like it's a representation of her being a Kitsune, a fox spirit. I included an enlarged picture below for a better look. I'm really surprised there wasn't another picture on the other side of the framed cherry blossom but there is something in the room that balances it out. Let me know if you find it, I'll give you the answer below.
Bed
Her bed is filled with quite a few pillows including several colorful decorative throw pillows. I like that the throw pillows are mismatched, they add a little fun to her very coordinated room. There is a lot of balance and symmetry in her room. For instance, on both sides of her bed, she has matching side tables that contains matching lamps and the same number of various items. Adding to the symmetry is the hamper on the right side of the bed while on the left is an ottoman with two colorful stuff animals on it.
Closet Doors
These sliding shoji doors are absolutely eye-catching and they stand out even more against the red paint on the walls. There's more symmetry with the swords (with red and black covers or scabbards) above the closet. There's also a really cool colorful origami mobile which balances out the gray fox painting.
On the other side of her room is a dresser which features two more swords and the display rack. The two swords above the closet are decorative, these two on her dresser are the ones she uses as she protects her small town.
There is also more art with a 3-piece artwork hanging above the dresser and even a small piece of framed artwork on her bathroom wall. On the far side of the room is her desk, chair and a framed rectangular mirror.
(Teen Wolf season 5 episode 17 "A Credible Threat")
When I watch TV, my main goal is to enjoy whatever I'm watching but sometimes you notice things like a character's really interesting room. I thought Kira Yukimura's room perfectly reflects her heritage and her being a supernatural protector of her town of Beacon Hills.
