I can't help wondering why a satin dress was onboard and what happened to the original owner. Perhaps they robbed a luxury liner and this dress was in one of the trunks or suit cases. Or perhaps it belonged to a prostitute who once boarded the pirate ship. Who knows how the dress found its way onboard but it's stunning and perfectly suited Marion.
I've always loved the silky, slinky dresses of the 1930s and this dress is so beautiful, the costume designer did a wonderful job finding a dress that perfectly fit the era. I was so inspired by this look that I had to include it for a Fashion Meets Fandom post, however with a slightly modern take.
I found two dresses that incorporate many of the elements from Marion's dress. The first is satin and the second has an empire waist and they both tie at the shoulders. You may never find yourself in all the action and suspense that Marion found herself in but at least you can look the part.
