At a mysterious Jedi temple, she finds herself hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through iconic and beloved Star Wars moments where she will come into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But the problem is will she be able to make it back in time for the Life Day feast as well as learn the true meaning of the holiday spirit?
I hope this LEGO special will be more well liked by fans than compared to the original Star Wars Holiday Special. For anyone who doesn't know it was a TV movie that aired November 17, 1978 on CBS. The original special has been criticized by fans and is considered to be one of the worst things ever created. Despite being a big Star Wars fans, I had never seen it that is until I recently watched it (I found it on YouTube). All I have to say is that, I completely agree with the many disgruntled fans, it was really bad.
Where Star Wars: A New Hope feels timeless, the Holiday Special truly embodied the 70s while also being a rather strange and weird sci-fi variety show. It's not something I could see rewatching and I love Holiday Specials, movies and shows. Now as for this new special, I'm really looking forward to seeing it, it looks like it's going to be as fun as all the other LEGO Star Wars shows and specials. I do hope that at some point this special will air on one of the Disney channels or be released on DVD/Blu-ray so fans who don't have Disney+ can see it.
