Why I Think Rose Tico is Inspiring

I never understood the negativity towards the character Rose Tico from some Star Wars fans after she appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the sequel The Rise of Skywalker. To me Rose was the positive energy that was needed in the Resistance. She showed that despite the terrible situation they were in and not to mention the death of her sister Paige, she was still a very hopeful person.

There was just something so incredibly relatable and inspiring about Rose, that you can't help but like her. She is someone who most likely worked hard in the background in tech maintenance helping to keep the Resistance running smoothly and since she wasn't a general, Jedi or ace pilot she probably never would have gotten the chance to shine if not for a chance to go with Finn on a side mission. They were hoping what they were during would help in saving the Resistance and defeat the First Order. Although, their mission didn't turn out the way they hoped, it was still an opportunity for them to grown and learn.

Despite the divisiveness of The Last Jedi, Rose Tico was a breakout character and that was due to Kelly Marie Tran putting so much heart into the role. I'm still disappointed that Rose wasn't in more scenes in The Rise of Skywalker because she is a cool and inspiring character. She showed that you don't have to be "the hero" to be a hero.
