On My List: April 11th

Happy Sunday, it's the start of a new and wonderful week and I was wondering what's on your list? What books, shows and movies have you found or caught your interest? It doesn't matter if it's new or old, I'd love to know.

I'm going to start posting On My List ever Sunday because there are just so many books, shows and movies that interest me. Here's this week's list.

Books I Want to Read:

There are so many interesting stories that I want to read such as Shadow of the Fox. I just think it has such a cool and intriguing premise. The other two books: Break the Fall and The Cheerleaders which have a sports theme also seem like really good reads as well.

Book: Break the Fall by Jennifer Iacopelli

Description:

Audrey Lee is going to the Olympics.

A year ago, she could barely do a push up as she recovered from a spine surgery, one that could have paralyzed her. And now? She's made the United States gymnastics team with her best friend, Emma, just like they both dreamed about since they were kids. She's on top of the world.

The pressure for perfection is higher than ever when horrifying news rips the team apart. Audrey is desperate to advocate for her teammate who has been hurt by the one person they trusted most--but not all the gymnasts are as supportive.

With the team on the verge of collapse, the one bright spot in training is Leo, her new coach's ridiculously cute son. And while Audrey probably (okay, definitely) shouldn't date him until after the games, would it really be the end of the world?

Balancing the tenuous relationship between her teammates with unparalleled expectations, Audrey doesn't need any more distractions. No matter what it takes, she's not going to let anyone bring them down. But with painful revelations, incredible odds, and the very real possibility of falling at every turn, will Audrey's determination be enough?

Book: Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox book #1) by Julie Kagawa

Description:

In this first book of her Japanese mythology-inspired Shadow of the Fox trilogy, bestselling author Julie Kagawa weaves a stunning, high-stakes tale of alliances and deceptions, characters who aren’t what they seem, and secrets that could change the fate of the world.

Every millennium, whoever holds the Scroll of a Thousand Prayers has the power to call the great Kami Dragon from the sea and ask for one wish. The time is near...and the missing pieces of the scroll will be sought throughout the land of Iwagoto.

When demons kill half-kitsune Yumeko’s adoptive family, she’s forced to flee her home with one part of the ancient scroll. Fate thrusts her into the path of mysterious samurai Kage Tatsumi, who is Yumeko’s best hope for survival. But he’s under orders to retrieve the scroll. An uneasy alliance forms, and Yumeko begins the deception of a lifetime, knowing her secrets are more than a matter of life or death―they’re the key to the fate of the world.

Book: The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas

Description:

From the author of The Darkest Corners and Little Monsters comes an all-new edge-of-your-seat thriller set in upstate New York about an eerie sequence of seemingly unrelated events that leaves five cheerleaders dead.

There are no more cheerleaders in the town of Sunnybrook.

First there was the car accident--two girls dead after hitting a tree on a rainy night. Not long after, the murders happened. Those two girls were killed by the man next door. The police shot him, so no one will ever know his reasons. Monica's sister was the last cheerleader to die. After her suicide, Sunnybrook High disbanded the cheer squad. No one wanted to be reminded of the girls they'd lost.

That was five years ago. Now the faculty and students at Sunnybrook High want to remember the lost cheerleaders. But for Monica, it's not that easy. She just wants to forget.

Only, Monica's world is starting to unravel. There are the letters in her stepdad's desk, an unearthed, years-old cell phone, a strange new friend at school. . . . Whatever happened five years ago isn't over. Some people in town know more than they're saying. And somehow, Monica is at the center of it all.

There are no more cheerleaders in Sunnybrook, but that doesn't mean anyone else is safe.

TV Shows I Want to Watch:

New to Me Show:

Station 19

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star are already two of my favorite shows even though I've only recently started watching them but that doesn't mean I don't want to watch Station 19, even if it is a similar show. I want to see how these characters are written along with whatever rescue situation and personal drama they find themselves in. Although, I've never watched Grey's Anatomy, I'm hoping this show is written in a way you shouldn't have to watch the original show to follow along to enjoy it.

Starring: Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Grey Damon, Barrett Doss, Jay Hayden, Okieriete Onaodowan, Danielle Savre, Boris Kodjoe, Miguel Sandoval, Alberto Frezza and more

Description:

This spinoff of the critically acclaimed show Grey's Anatomy follows the lives of the men and women of firehouse station 19 in Seattle, Washington.

In Seattle, all firefighters are also trained EMTs and the crew at Station 19 is second to none. Working in 24-hour shifts, these professionals spend so much time together that they build relationships, unlike any others.

Rewatch:

The Vampire Diaries

I don't know why this show has been on my mind lately but I figure that's a good enough reason to rewatch it.

Starring: Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Michael Trevino, Nina Dobrev and more

Description:

The lives, loves, dangers and disasters in the town, Mystic Falls, Virginia. Creatures of unspeakable horror lurk beneath this town as a teenage girl is suddenly torn between two vampire brothers.

Movies I want to Watch:

The Three Musketeers

I love this movie and all the steampunk elements that are includes. At some point, I want to read the classic novel, The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas that the movie is adapted from. I would love to see how the original story is compared to all the adaptions.

Starring: Logan Lerman, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz and more

Description:

The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.
