What's the last movie you watched or rewatched? #1

The last movies I rewatched were: The Librarian: Quest for the Spear and The 10 Year Plan. The Librarian: Quest for the Spear is a fantasy adventure that's the first movie in The Librarian movie series which would eventually lead to an amazing The Librarians TV series. I love this first movie it's action packed and super intriguing. It felt like a nice homage to the Indiana Jones movies as it follows Flynn Carsen, a 30 something former professional college student with an abundance of degrees who ended up getting a highly sought after job as a Librarian at the Metropolitan Public Library.

This was more than just a typical librarian job, Flynn would be responsible for caring for some of the world's most important and historical artifacts and knowledge. When one of the three parts of the Spear of Destiny was stolen from the library by the shadowy group Serpent Brotherhood, Flynn was tasked with finding it. He also needed to make sure the other two parts weren't found as well as prevent the pieces from being put back together because who ever completes the spear will unfortunately control the destiny of the entire world.

Flynn is this nerdy bookworm who for years has shied away from the world by continuously staying in college getting numerous degrees instead of going out there living his life. He lives with his mother and she wanted him not only to find a job but also find love. She tried to set him up with dates but the matchmaking may not have worked but he did finally get a job. And it was perfect for him because he not only got to use his vast intellect but he got to experience the world as well as save it. Despite his mother's romantic efforts, Flynn did meet someone, Nicole Noone, a woman who protects the Librarians. She's not only smart but can not only protect herself (and the Librarian) in a fight but also survive other death-defying mission activities.

It's been a while since I've seen this movie but it's still fun and exciting to watch.

The second movie I rewatched was The 10 Year Plan, it's a romantic comedy that follows Myles and Brody, who are best friends who made a pact to be together in ten years if neither finds love by Myles' 35th birthday. The thing is Miles is a hopeless romantic who unfortunately scares away guys by being too romantic. Meanwhile, Brody isn't looking for love he's more into hooking up with as many guys as he can. He only made the pact with Myles to make his overly romantic best friend feel better after Myles got dumped for the umpteenth time.

When Brody realized that the date of the pact was approaching and he didn't want to go through with it, he decided to help Myles find love or at least help him change his approach to dating. In a typical rom-com fashion, Brody eventually realizes that he loves Myles but will it be too late for the two of them to be together?

This was a funny movie with these friends who are complete opposites yet they really do care about each other. But only as friends even if as the viewer you can see that they could easily work as a couple only if the two figured it out for themselves. Myles was looking for his Prince Charming to sweep him off his feet, there's nothing wrong with being overly romantic but at times it felt like he was trying too hard to be romantic with all the wrong guys. None of them ever appreciated any of the romantic gestures he made and ended up dumping him. The only one who seemed to appreciate all the romantic gestures was Brody but he doesn't count since love and romance was not what he was looking for. At least he appreciated all the effort that Myles made. Too bad they just weren't on the same page that is until it became an option.

I really like this movie, yeah it's a little cheesy at times but it's very much a romantic comedy with all the ridiculousness to go with it.
