Happy Flag Day!

I know Flag Day isn't the most exciting holiday but as with nearly every holiday there's always something you can learn. Flag Day is in celebration of when the United States adopted the Stars and Stripes as the American flag on June 14, 1777. Since then, I feel like Flag Day is a great way to learn about all kind of flags from state flags to different countries flags. I figure it's always good to learn more.

Below is a small geeky list of flag themed episodes from two shows: Molly of Denali and The Big Bang Theory. Happy Flag Day everyone!


Molly of Denali

Season 1 episode 10: 1) Suki's Bone 2) Brand New Flag

Description:

1) When Suki digs up an old bone tool covered with markings, Molly, Tooey, and Oscar discover the playful pooch has made an important archeological discovery. 2) Molly announces a contest to design an original flag for the Denali Trading Post inspired by Benny Benson, the real-life Alaska Native boy who designed the state flag of Alaska.





The Big Bang Theory

Season 5 episode 14: The Beta Test Initiation

Description:

Leonard and Penny develop a system to ensure their dates go smoothly. Raj finally finds a woman he can talk to - the virtual assistant on his mobile phone. Sheldon launches his vodcast, "Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags".


Season 6 episode 7: The Habitation Configuration

Description:

Howard makes a decision whether or not to move out of his mother's house. Sheldon attempts to record a special Star Trek-themed episode of "Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags" with guest Wil Wheaton. However, Sheldon is caught in the middle of an argument between Amy and Wil Wheaton.


Season 6 episode 17: The Monster Isolation

Description:

Raj falls apart after his date sneaks out on him, and Sheldon welcomes Penny as a guest on "Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags" in an episode featuring the Nebraska state flag.


Season 8 episode 10: The Champagne Reflection

Description:

Sheldon hosts the final edition of "Sheldon Cooper Presents: Fun with Flags" featuring a highlights reel with guests LeVar Burton and Barry Kripke. While Leonard, Howard and Raj look for something significant in a dead professor's research, and Bernadette finds out what her colleagues really think of her.


Season 9 episode 2: The Separation Oscillation

Description:

Leonard and Penny try to work through their marital issues. Meanwhile, Sheldon films a special episode of "Fun with Flags" after his breakup with Amy, and Bernadette feels guilty about withholding a secret from Penny.


Season 9 episode 15: The Valentino Submergence

Description:

For Valentine's Day, Sheldon and Amy host a special live episode of "Fun with Flags". Meanwhile Leonard and Penny grapple with getting older, Howard and Bernadette find a surprise in their hot tub and Raj is torn between Emily and Claire.


Season 10 episode 7: The Veracity Elasticity

Description:

Sheldon and Amy host their first on-location episode of "Fun with Flags" from their new home. Leonard finds out Penny is slowly moving all of his collectible toys into storage.


Season 10 episode 21: The Separation Agitation

Description:

Sheldon and Amy hosted a live behind-the-scenes special of Fun with Flags, "Fun with Flags: Behind the Flags - A Retrospective". Howard and Bernadette have a hard time leaving Halley in daycare when Bernadette returns to work. Bert introduces the gang to his new girlfriend.


Season 12 episode 10: The VCR Illumination

Description:

A VHS tape from Sheldon's past inspires him and Amy not to give up when they're still feeling down about their theory being disproven. Bernadette turns into a pageant mom when she tries to help Howard with his Magic Castle audition.


Season 12 episode 13: The Confirmation Polarization

Description:

Sheldon and Amy are thrilled when their super asymmetry theory is proven by two physicists, until they try to kick Amy off the Nobel nomination. Bernadette gets one of her drugs approved and wants a reluctant Penny to head the sales team.
