Good evening everyone, it may be a little late but it's never too late to post fandom thoughts. What fandom thoughts are on your mind?
- I watched Psych 3: This is Gus and the movie is so good, it's funny and has an interesting mystery with Burton "Gus" Guster and Shawn Spencer trying to figure out who Gus' fiancé Selene really is. I'm really hoping there will be a fourth movie especially with the way it ended. What I like about these Psych movies is that each one is better than the last one and that the characters get to grow while still being as ridiculous as ever.
- Sometimes being a fan means saying goodbye to characters and two of my favorite shows did just that. First Dean Miller in Station 19's fifth season who died due to injuries on the job as a firefighter in the Station 19/Grey's Anatomy crossover last Thursday. I know shows are always looking for an emotional impact but the writers don't have to keep killing off characters to do that.
It's been stated that the actor Okieriete Onaodowan who played Dean wanted to leave the show but I wish the writers had given him a happier send off. Dean was my favorite character and the writers could have had him survive the incident but then decide he didn't want to continue working such a dangerous job and then decided he and his daughter Pruitt "Pru" would move away. I think that still would have had the same emotional effect. Instead now Pru will be raised by paramedic/firefighter Dr. Ben Warren and his wife Dr. Miranda Bailey.

Second is Michael Grant and his fiancé Dr. David Hale on 9-1-1, both characters are leaving Los Angeles to do relief work in Haiti. Although both characters were being written off the show in this fifth season the writers chose not to kill them. Instead they were given a happy and heartfelt ending, that was also a little bittersweet. I feel like writers don't always have to kill off characters if an actor leaves a show, why not send them off with an emotional yet happy ending. I know that's not going to be the case for every show but it's something more writers should consider.

- Speaking of 9-1-1, I still wish they would release the unedited Halloween fifth season 7th episode Ghost Stories. Fans didn't care that the Halloween episode would have aired after the holiday but the showrunners/executives made the bad decision to edit out all the Halloween/ghostly roommate scenes. And most likely to expand the buried alive/murder mystery with Detective Lou Ransone and TV Reporter Taylor Kelly. Did the showrunners/executives forget that fans like holiday episodes and don't care if they don't line up with the actual date of the holiday.

- I don't know why animation is seen as something childish but live-action is treated with more respect. It's just something that really annoys me whenever I see someone treating animation like it's a lesser form of art. Neither medium is better than the other they are simply different forms of storytelling.
