Entertainment News #6: Cancelled, New and Reboot Shows, Lewis Tan

- It's been reported that the Amazon Prime TV series I Know What You Did Last Summer has been cancelled after one season. The show has received mixed reviews from viewers with a lot of them leaning towards the negative. I did notice that in some of the positive reviews many stated how they liked the new take on the story. However, I don't think a lot of the viewers enjoyed how the story unfolded which is probably why the show was cancelled. I do wonder if viewers are starting to get tired of reboots?

As for this show, I can't give my opinion on it because despite being a fan of the I Know What You Did Last Summer book and the first two movies, I haven't gotten around to watch the show yet. Even though it's cancelled, I'm still going to watch it to see if it's good or bad.

- Netflix has a new mystery series, Welcome to Murderville, it's a six episode comedy series which will premiere Thursday, February 3rd. The show stars Will Arnett as a detective who, in every episode, has to solve a murder with a new celebrity guest star as his partner. The catch is, the guest star is never given a script so they have to improvise their way through the case!

According to the show's writer and producer Krister Johnson, "all evidence and clues are shown throughout the episode and at the end you find out if the guest guessed right and also see all the evidence that pointed to the real killer". Okay this sounds like it's going to be a fun show. I love mysteries and I can't wait to watch this and see how weirdly entertaining it's going to be.

- Actor Lewis Tan has been cast in the role of Tolya Kir-Bataar in the second season of the Netflix TV series Shadow and Bone. This show is based on the Shadow and Bone book series by Leigh Bardugo. Although, I haven't read or watched either series, I've been planning to because the descriptions for the books really seem interesting and I figured the show is probably just as good as the books. Well, I'll see.

- It's being reported that Quantum Leap will be rebooted and will air on NBC. So far, Scott Bakula is not currently attached to the reboot to reprise his role as Dr. Sam Beckett. I don't understand why there are so many reboots but I guess it's easier to work off an existing product than let writers be creative and develop new shows.
