Entertainment News #21: Harley Quinn, Harlem, NCIS: Los Angeles and Cancelled Shows

- The Harley Quinn animated series will have a Valentine's Day special, Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special. It will premiere Thursday, February 9th on HBO Max. I really can't wait to see this.

Description:

As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.

- The second season of the Amazon Prime TV series Harlem will premiere on Friday, February 3rd with the first two episodes. The trailer looks good, I'm really interested to see this new season and see what's going to happen because it really looks like there's going to be a lot happening in the lives for each of the characters.

Description:

After blowing up her career and disrupting her love life, Camille has to figure out how to put the pieces back together. Tye considers her future while Quinn goes on a journey of self-discovery and Angie’s career takes a promising turn.

- A show that has had plenty of longevity that however will be ending is NCIS: Los Angeles. The current 14th season will be the last one for the long-running series. There are mixed reviews as to whether the show was cancelled or simply ending. Regardless, the final episode will air on Sunday, May 14th at 10:00 PM EST on CBS. NCIS: LA one one of my favorite shows and I'm sad that it's ending but I guess it's good to end a show while it's still good and loved by viewers.

- The list of cancelled shows continues to grow, there are three more shows to add to the list: Vampire Academy, One of Us is Lying and The Mosquito Coast. The streaming service Peacock cancelled both Vampire Academy after one season and One of Us is Lying after two seasons. And Apple Plus cancelled The Mosquito Coast after two seasons. I don't know how shows are supposed to gain new viewers further develop storylines if the networks and streaming services keep canceling them.

All three shows were adapted from books, the Vampire Academy book series by Richelle Mead, One of Us is Lying book series by Karen M. McManus and The Mosquito Coast by Paul Theroux.
