A new show that I want to watch is The Paper, it's supposed to be a spinoff or at least in the same universe as The Office (which I've never watched). This first season has ten episodes which are all available to watch now. I think it looks like a fun show as a new Editor-in-Chief tries to revive a less than stellar newpaper which includes a group of inexperienced reporters. It will be interesting to see if the paper actually improves as well as the reporters. But until then, it's probably not going to go well at all. I'm going to start watching this tonight.

With most of my shows going on hiatus, I figure it's time to find some new shows to watch. I have constantly been seeing the trailer for The Day of the Jackal and I guess the marketing is working because I want to see it. From the trailer, it looks really interesting. It has a British Intelligence Officer trying to capture a highly skilled assassin. A question I have is will she ever catch him? Also, is there any romance between these two? Because usually when there's this cat-and-mouse set up there some romance especially if they're perfectly matched. I guess to answer both of my questions, I'll have to tune in to see.
The Day of the Jackal is a 10 episode miniseries that airs on the Peacock streaming service. So far, six episodes have aired with new episodes released on Thursdays.

I used to love watching the Monk TV series, I'm really surprised I haven't rewatched it. Anyway, it's a really good procedural that follows former police officer (possibly detective, it's been a while) turned (due to his mental issues and neurosis) private detective. I love that the show ended while it was still good and still a fan favorite. I'm happy to see the show return as a movie (possible movie series) and Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie will premiere on Friday, December 8th on Peacock.
As for other shows, Psych has done an excellent job of successfully returning as a movie series. All three movies have been fun and very enjoyable to watch. I also really enjoyed watching the Luther movie Luther: The Fallen Sun, it was very good and suspenseful. I really hope there will be another movie. Not every show has success returning as a movie, case in point Teen Wolf: The Movie. It was extremely disappointing and terribly written with a plot that made absolutely no sense. It was so bad I'll be surprised if it receives a sequel.
From the trailer, the Mr. Monk's Last Case still has the same feel as the TV series and the mystery seems like it's going to be interesting. I love that all the main characters returned. And according to reports, fan favorite character Sharona Fleming (who I still can't believe married Randall "Randy" Disher) will also appear perhaps as a cameo. I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Happy Saturday, it's the weekend before Halloween! And it's Weekend Films, what movies are going to watch?
There are two I want to see: Five Nights at Freddy's and Inspector Sun. First is Five Nights at Freddy's, it's a horror movie based on a video game. Although I play video games, I'm not a big gamer which is probably why I never heard of the video game. Anyway, the movie looks good with haunted animatronics. And it looks like security guard Mike's daughter might be in danger.
The second is Inspector Sun, is an animated film that centers around a spider detective trying to solve a mystery on a plane. I love a good mystery and this looks so cute and fun. It's like a classic mystery but with insects, how could I not want to see it?

The summer TV season is just getting started and Based on a True Story is one of the shows I'm most psyched for. The eight episode first season will premiere on Peacock on Thursday, June 8th. I love a good mystery series, I never get tired of seeing them. I already love Murders in the Building on Hulu and I can't wait to see Based on a True Story. So, they are trying to find a murderer and possibly make money on it and from the trailer it looks like they are going to find themselves in the middle of a lot of trouble.
Although, I'm a big fan of mysteries, I'm not a fan of true crime books, shows, podcast, etc. I really don't want to know the real life horrors of murders and murderers but I can enjoy the fictional take on it.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend and do you have any movie plans? Well, I have four movies that seem very interesting: Autumn in the City, Halloween Ends, Let's Get Physical and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.
The first movie seems really cute, Autumn in the City is a romantic comedy set in New York City with a woman trying to find herself and maybe even find a little romance. Next is Halloween Ends, the final movie in the Halloween series, with Laurie Strode going up against Michael Myers for the last time. The next is the drama Let's Get Physical that's based on a true story with the movie following Sadie a fitness instructor who is also a prostitute. And last is The Curse of Bridge Hollow a supernatural comedy set during Halloween when a ghost is accidently released and is causing terror throughout the town.
All four movies are a must see for me. Now all I have to do is to remember to grab my snacks so I can sit back and enjoy these movies.

I'm starting to feel like I live under a rock because I did not see any promotion or marketing for this movie Meet Cute, that is until now. This movie premiered two days ago but I didn't see anything for it until this morning. Why is the marketing so bad? Just because there are so many shows and movies that doesn't mean these companies should just do the bare minimum in promoting them. It means they should do more. Anyway, I created a new Romantic Comedy movie label to make it easier to find some of the movies of that genre that I post.
Okay, Meet Cute looks like a cute, fun and zany movie. It does make me wonder if Shelia really loves Gary if she keeps going back in time to try to change him? I guess I'll see once I watch this sci-fi romantic dramedy.

With so many movies that are constantly being released there are bound to be some that I've missed. And here are six movies that I missed seeing or didn't know about when they were orginally released that I plan on watching real soon: Master, Not Okay, Prey, Secret Headquarters, The Black Phone and The Sea Beast.

I don't usually watch a lot of shows on the Peacock streaming service, the only show I really watch on there is Curious George. Hey, that animated series is in its 15th season. However, since it's Hiatus Season, I figure it's good time to watch a few more. There are six shows that I'm interested in watching: Girls5eva, Grand Crew, Killing It, Queer as Folk, Rutherford Falls and Wolf Like Me.
Girls5eva is about a singing group trying to make a come back. This looks really funny and also the show is currently in its second season. Grand Crew isn't technically a Peacock original series, it's actually an NBC series but you can watch it on Peacock. Anyway, when this show originally aired, I watched the first two episodes and really like it. Yet somehow I didn't continue watching it but I am now.
Although, I'm not keen on animals being killed, Killing It seems like an interesting series. As for Queer as Folks it's a reboot of the 90s series but it doesn't seem like the writers were trying to recreate the original show. Well, at least not entirely because there was a tragedy that happened near the end of original series. Rutherford Falls is also another show that's currently in its second season and it also looks really funny. Finally, Wolf Like Me is a show I meant to watch back in January but yet again I never got around to it. But I really want to know if she really is a werewolf or simply thinks she is.
I really can't wait to watch all of these shows. What have you been watching during Hiatus Season?

There are a lot of new shows that have been premiering: Grand Crew (NBC), Abbott Elementary (ABC), The Cleaning Lady (FOX), Pivoting (FOX) and so far I've really enjoyed watching these shows. And another one that I'm interested in seeing is Wolf Like Me which is premiering this Thursday on Peacock. From looking at the trailer, I get the feeling that Mary might be a werewolf (hence the title) or she has a condition where she believes she is. Either way, it should be interesting find out.

I don't know how I missed Dan Brown's book, The Lost Symbol was being adapted into a TV series. It will premiere Thursday, September 16th on the Peacock streaming service. I read The Lost Symbol back in 2013, it has a really good story that I enjoyed reading it.
I can't wait to watch the show and see how the story will be adapted. Side note, it's a little weird seeing another actor portray Professor Robert Langdon instead of Tom Hanks. It will be interesting to see Ashley Zukerman's take on the role.
