Trailer for tonight's episode of 9-1-1: Recovery

What did you think of last week's 9-1-1 episode In Another Life? I really liked it, I thought it was good. However, it was totally mis-marketed as a take on the classic movie It's a Wonderful Life. Because the episode had a creepy horror feel to it and felt more like a cross between The Twilight Zone and The Shining with maybe a sprinkle of It's a Wonderful Life. Someone on the 9-1-1 writing staff must be a horror fan (or have a desire to write horror movies) because each season there's always episodes that would fit in well within the horror genre.

As good as the episode was, I did have an issue with the lack of Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz. Because it really seems like the Showrunner and writers this season have been going out of their way to separate Evan "Buck" Buckley and Eddie. And in this episode with Buck being injured, they didn't think Eddie's importance was warranted more scenes. Which makes no sense since him and Buck are supposed to be best friends and Buck is always present in Eddie's big moments yet Eddie was treated like an afterthought for Buck's in this episode.

Anyway, for tonight's episode it looks like Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash is really getting into trouble trying to find out if his AA sponsor and friend Wendell was murdered. This is something that Bobby just can't let go until he knows the truth. And it's understandable that he wants answers but it looks like he might get charged for something he obviously didn't do. I believe the couple who own and run the exclusive rehab facility had something to do with Wendell's death and probably framed Bobby because he was getting to close to the truth. I do wonder if the mystery will be solved in this episode or continue throughout the rest of the season until the season finale episode.

As for Buck's storyline, it will be interesting to see if his Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome will make him hesitant to go back to work. Ever since the first episode, he has been defined by his job as a fire fighter and has done everything he can to keep doing his job including putting his health at risk to get back to it after an injury to filing a lawsuit to get his job back. So again it'll be interesting to see how his PTSD will affect him.

With that said, I'm looking forward to watching tonight's episode. Looks like it'll be good.
