Trailer for tonight's episode of 9-1-1: Mixed Feelings

I can't believe 9-1-1 was on a three week break especially since prior to that, the show had just returned from a nearly four month long break. I don't know why this show has so many breaks. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to watching tonight's episode because it has Maddie Buckley and Howard "Chimney" Han dealing with a suspicious neighbor. And she's probably being so weird that they'll have to get help from Athena Grant and Robert "Bobby" Nash. I do wonder if maybe the neighbor may have hid something in Chimney and Maddie's house. Because prior to them buying it, the house was rundown and vacant and nicknamed "The Murder House" and with a look and a name like that it would surely keep most people from wanting to check it out. And in the trailer, Athena said she (as referring to the neighbor) "just got out of prison a month ago" and maybe the neighbor is trying to get back whatever she hid in the house. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the neighbor is really up to.

As for Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Dr. Karen Wilson dealing with their son Denny who had been secretly seeing his biological father Nathaniel Greene. I feel like as the adult Nathaniel should have immediately contacted Hen and Karen as soon as Denny showed up at his house back in the mid season finale Red Flags. However, instead he decided to follow Denny's lead, who as a child should not be the one making the decisions as to when to tell Denny's parents that they have been getting to know each other. I can understand that Nathaniel wanted to get to know his son, who he didn't know Denny's biological mother Eva had given Denny up for adoption. That is until she contacted him as a way to cause trouble for Hen and Karen back in the second season episode Awful People. Anyway, it looks Karen and Hen will find out the truth about Denny and Nathaniel and I'm sure it's going to have an emotional outcome.

As for Evan "Buck" Buckley discovering he has new cognitive abilities, I'm sure it will be an interesting subplot. There is something I have found interesting about Buck's storyline this season and how it centers around the Couch Theory that fans have created. The fan theory is that ever since the sixth season premiere episode Let the Games Begin and the lines below were given where Buck stated to his best friend Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz that maybe I don't want to pick the wrong couch again while looking at Eddie.

Eddie: Taylor moved out, what, four months ago, Buck? You could have replaced the couch by now.

Buck: Uh, well, maybe I don't want to pick the wrong couch again.

Given the subtext, metaphor and symbolism surrounding this scene, fans believe that the Couch Theory will inevitable lead to Eddie being the right couch as Buck's potential love interest. Ever since the sixth season premiere, the theory has continued to grow and the last episode Recovery only seemed to add more fuel to the fire (no pun intended) with Buck not being able to sleep or get comfortable on the new couch that his mother had recently bought him. However, as soon as he showed up at Eddie's house and sat down on Eddie's couch he immediately went to sleep.

It will be interesting to see how the season end especially in regards to Buck and Eddie especially since in next week's episode Eddie is suppose to try dating again. So who know if the Showrunner and writers will be trying to force another random love interest for Eddie or actually let Buck and Eddie date. Who knows? Can't think too much about that at least for now, since I can't wait to see tonight's episode and see what's in store.
