I can't believe the WGA (Writers Guild of America) has been on strike for eight weeks. The writers who have been joined by various union organizations have been striking for a fair contract with the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers). But to me, it feels like at this point the Studios are trying to pretend as if the writers don't exist. Or they are trying to wait them out and see if the writers will break and accept whatever crappy deal they will try to offer them.
As of now, the AMPTP has not even bothered to negotiate or meet with the writers. I really hope that the writers will get the contract that they are fighting for because shouldn't they get paid for all the work that goes with doing their job. Instead the people running these Studios try to find all the different ways to keep all the money and only give the writers a small amount, if that.
