Quote: Robert Nash, Evan Buckley and Edmundo Diaz

Bobby: Buck, Eddie, you guys see anything down there?

Buck: Naw. Just a million-dollar view.

Eddie: Cap, found something.

Bobby: Is it our hiker?

Eddie: A hiker. Don't think it's the one we came looking for. It's human remains, Cap. Skeletal remains.

Bobby: All right. Well, flag it but don't disturb it. We'll call it in.

Buck: (holding up the victim's old cellphone) Unless...

Eddie: What, you think a ghost called 911?

Buck: I'm just saying.

~ Robert "Bobby" Nash, Evan "Buck" Buckley and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz, 9-1-1 season 2 episode 7: Haunted

It's 12 days until Halloween and I want to start posting a few spooky things. First is this quote from Haunted, one of my favorite episodes from 9-1-1. I love this episode because there were a lot of different slightly (possible) supernatural things happening in this episode from the cemetery emergency to the possibility a ghost calling 9-1-1. Plus, it was a great nod to another one of my favorite shows, Ghost Whisperer since Jennifer Love Hewitt starred as the main character and ghost whisperer, Melinda Gordon. And she also currently plays 9-1-1 Dispatcher Maddie Buckley who took the aforementioned "ghost call". So that was a nice little touch.

Anyway, the quote that I posted is for the "ghost call" emergency because the 118 were called out to rescue a hiker who fell over a cliff. However, before Buck and Eddie found that hiker, they found human remains of another hiker who had died several years ago. The only thing left of the person were their remains and personal belongings. Eddie and Buck did eventually find the hiker they were set out to find. However once they found the guy, he said he never called 9-1-1, he fell over the cliff before he got a chance to. So it begs the question, who called 9-1-1? Someone who was walking by and happen to see the guy fall over? Or the ghost of the person who died?

What I found interesting is that while Maddie doubted a ghost called, her little brother Buck was not? And the matter was never really settled in the show. I tend to agree with Buck that the ghost called. Because when Maddie's call was played back for Police Sergeant Athena Grant, who was investigating the body that was found, the only thing that was heard was Maddie's side of the call and static for the person who had called. There is an interesting connection to the phone of the dead person that ties into this as well. So, if a ghost didn't call 9-1-1, who did?
