It's difficult being a Buck and Eddie fan

Sometimes it's really difficult being a 9-1-1 fan specifically a Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley (or Buddie) fan. Because if the rumors and the leaks turn out to be true for tomorrow's episode, then that means Buck will end up with yet another random character as a love interest, Tommy Kinard. If this storyline is all about Buck and Tommy, why use Eddie to stir up drama? Why bait fans with all the interviews and articles about Buck and Eddie this season just to make the storyline all about Buck and his new love interest?

I'm happy that Buck's sexuality will finally be confirmed because fans (myself included) have been speculating for a while that he's bisexual. But I'm disappointed that they would continue to ignore Eddie and Buck's amazing chemistry, connection and story in favor of putting Buck with some last minute add on character. According to the showrunner, Tommy wasn't even supposed to be in this season, they wanted Lucy Donato. But the actress who plays the character had already been cast as a main character in an upcoming FOX TV series. So, they tossed Tommy in the storyline instead.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't be happy about seeing Buck paired up with Lucy either but at least she wasn't as horrible as Tommy was/is. He never really apologized for being horrible to Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han in the past. It has all been glossed over as if he did nothing wrong. So, no I don't want to see Buck date this guy when he could have been with Eddie many seasons ago. Anyway, I know the episode hasn't aired yet but I can feel disappointed if the rumored storyline happens. And all this means is that the Showrunner and writers could have put Buck and Eddie together but chose not to.

This is just my current thoughts about the show. It's just really disappointing because now it feel like they chose to bait Eddie and Buck fans knowing they were yet again not going to put them together. At times like this, I really envy the Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford (or Chenford) fans because the Showrunner and writers for The Rookie listened to the fans and actually put this popular non-canon couple together. Similar to Buck and Eddie they have a strong connection and amazing chemistry that had been built up over the seasons of the show. However, the Showrunner didn't ignore the fans unlike 9-1-1.

I'm going to end this by saying if there are any other Buddie fans feeling disappointed, it's okay. Feeling disappointed is a normal reaction to feeling like yet again our thoughts and feels have continued to be disregarded. But it feels even worse this time because they could have easily put Buck and Eddie together but have decided not to while also baiting the fans in the process.
