Fashion Meets Fandom: Henrietta Wilson's Uniform Puffer Vest (9-1-1)

I love when Costume Designers for shows add in new costume pieces, and on 9-1-1 the firefighter uniforms are pretty standard. But the costume designer does add in new pieces such as a Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) jacket, hoodie or puffer vest. I believe the puffer vest was added on in the second half of the fifth season and debuted in the episode Dumb Luck (season 5 episode 14) worn by Evan "Buck" Buckley.

In a more recent episode Buck, Bothered and Bewildered (season 7 episode 4), Henrietta "Hen" Wilson wore the puffer vest. This vest had caught my eye before when it appeared in various episodes. But the other day I saw a clip from this episode of one of Hen's scenes and it made me want to create a Fashion Meets Fandom for her vest.

Although Los Angeles is known for being warm and sunny, it can be chilly. Which is why on various occasions, Hen has worn an LAFD jacket for work but I like that she now has another option, this puffer vest. A puffer vest is usually seen as something casual, laid back or lowkey. So it's interesting that this piece is used for work. However, since being a firefighter isn't a corporate job, including more casual work pieces simply works for them.

To get Hen's look, I found eight puffer vests that have a similar look and feel to the one that she wore. Unlike Hen's puffer vest which is for work, the ones I found can be worn whenever or however you want. It's possible you could wear it to work, if where you work has a casual atmosphere and doesn't have a restrictive dress code. But since it's a casual look, it's fun to pair it with other pieces to create different styles and looks such as pairing it over a dress or a long sleeve shirt and shorts.
