Entertainment News #60: Star Wars: The Acolyte and Will Trent

- Disney+ has cancelled The Star Wars TV series, The Acolyte after one season. It's disappointing that this show was cancelled, I enjoyed watching it. It might have started out a little slow but it quickly built up the drama and suspense. And with the way the first season ended, it was set up perfectly to follow Osha as she trained in the darkside of the force. I wish these networks and streaming services would give shows time to flourish to find viewers or to allow the writers to further develop the story. Now, it's just another show added to the cancelled shows list.

- The Will Trent TV series is adding actress Gina Rodriguez to the upcoming third season as a main character. She will play Marion Alba, an Assistant District Attorney. With the way the writers seemed to have put an end to Will and Angie Polaski's relationship since he arrested her in the season two finale, I wouldn't be surprised if Marion will be Will's new love interest.

I'm not interested in seeing Will jump into a new romance or relationship so soon, so I hope they won't go that route with him and Marion. The writers need to give Will time to move on from the love and life he thought he would have with Angie before giving him someone new to date. Many fans have been wondering when the show will finally bring in the character Sara Linton since she is Will's canon love interest in the book series written by Karin Slaughter. Since this is an adaptation of the books, I wonder if the Showrunner and writers are doing something different before bringing in Sara? Or are they just going to not include her at all and just give Will a non-canon love interest?
