(9-1-1 season 8 episode 9: Sob Stories)
Again whether it was intentional or not, Buck was sabotaging Eddie's effort to rent his house. Eddie was already stressed about trying to find renters and Buck was adding additional stress by chasing them all away. It got to the point where Eddie had to tell Buck to leave so that he could continue meeting potential renters by himself.
Buck's actions were very childish which was also shown by the light pink fluffy cardigan that he was wearing. In another Fashion Meets Fandom post Costume Analysis: Taylor Kelly (9-1-1), I wrote that there are some shades of pink that are considered childish. Which is exactly how Buck was acting. In that moment, he wasn't being helpful, he was acting like a child. Because instead of properly expressing his feelings and telling Eddie how he felt about Eddie moving back to El Paso, TX, he just let his inner child run free ruining Eddie's attempt to find renters.
This cardigan was the perfect piece because it kicked off the beginning of Buck being childish. Which was revved up even more after he was in the process of leaving Eddie's house when he overheard Eddie talking to a potential renter. Eddie had offhandedly said something along the lines about Los Angeles was just a job and that there were no ties there. Everything important was in Texas. So, Buck heard that and it made him act out even more. Eddie didn't mean what he said, he was just trying to convince a potential renter that there would be no problems from him if they rented the place. But back to Buck, I like that he eventually figured out that how he was acting wasn't right and that he ended up helping Eddie out in regards to the renting situation.
I just love watching shows and movies and seeing all the work and effort that goes into telling a story. From the sets to costumes there is so much additional information. Total side note: This Acne Studios cardigan that Buck is wearing is $540. I know a lot of wardrobe for shows is aspirational, but since the costume designer didn't put Buck in any random affordable pink cardigan, you can factor in that Buck probably spends a lot of his money on expensive clothes. Which probably contributed a bit to his bad credit.
