Hiatus Watch: Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (+ Trailer)

There are quite a few shows I want to watch during this hiatus and the latest one I found is Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. It's a spin-off from Wizards of Waverly Place and in this new series it follows Justin Russo, who is stepping back into the magical world after leaving it behind. Surprisingly, he never told his wife Giada and their kids Roman and Milo that he was a wizard. Justin was asked by his younger sister Alex to teach Billie, a young and rebellious wizard who although is very powerful, she has no discipline. Also, there's some sort of prophesy about Billie (which she doesn't know about) but it may end up with her having to save the world. Which at the moment she is definitely not prepared for. Which is why Justin will really have to teach her everything she needs to know about magic. What I found interesting is that it didn't take long before Giada, Roman and Milo found out about magic (well, the kids found out in the first episode).

So far, I only watched the first two episodes (there are 10 episodes that have already aired) and I already really like this show. It's funny, cute, fast paced and has plenty of magic. I like all the characters, Billie is smart and full of energy which can sometimes get her in trouble especially in regards to her magic. Justin is still the same (studious and structured), he's just an adult now. Giada who is an Investigative Reporter is both smart and a little wacky. She also has this tacky sense of fashion that works for her. As for their kids, Roman and Milo they are very opposite. Where Roman is a mini version of his dad (studious and structured), Milo is a little whimsical weirdo but it also works for him.

I'm a big fan of supernatural shows and it's been a while since I've watched a Disney Channel show which is why I'm glad I found Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. While I'm getting caught up on the remainder of the first 10 episodes, funny enough I think this show might be on hiatus. There are still 11 more episodes to air for the rest of season but I don't see when a new episode is scheduled.

Most Memorable Scene: Howard Han, Evan Buckley, Edmundo Diaz and Brad Torrance filming Hotshots (9-1-1)

This scene from the 9-1-1 episode Wannabes (season 8 episode 8) is so funny. Also, I would like to apologize for a comment I made last Thursday about Brad. Because I thought he was getting too much focus but now I can see why. I like how his story ended and surprisingly he turned out to be an interesting character. As for this scene with Chimney, Buck and Eddie filming a scene for Hotshots, I can't believe how terrible Buck and Eddie's acting was. They should definitely keep their jobs as firefighters. However, Chimney might have a career (at least a side career) in acting.

What's On Tonight (Monday 11/25): Superman & Lois, The Neighborhood, Poppa's House and Brilliant Minds

Happy Monday!

After tonight's episode of Superman & Lois, there's only one left. I can't believe this series is ending so quickly. Well, tonight's episode looks like Clark is going to go up against Lex. I hope it will get better for Lois by end of this episode. Because she's a good reporter who's now being targeted by Lex and his minions to make it seem as if she's not good at her job.

With The Neighborhood, it looks like Tina is way too happy to meet whoever her son Malcolm is dating. I wonder if her enthusiasm is going cause trouble for Malcolm's new relationship. For Poppa's House, I doubt Dr. Reed is flirting with Poppa but they do have good chemistry so I guess I'll have to see what will happen in this episode. And finally is Brilliant Minds, Dr. Wolf is trying to help a patient who is an artist but somehow no longer has any interest in painting.

What's On Tonight (Sunday 11/24): Tracker and The Equalizer

I'm cutting it close posting this but here is my usual Sunday line up: Tracker and The Equalizer. Tonight's episode of Tracker has Colter trying locate a missing dog but the dog thief might be so much worse. The Equalizer has Robyn and her team trying to help a comedian because someone is trying to kill him. However there seems to be a catch.

Fandom Thoughts #8: Captain Marvel movie and S.W.A.T. character Olivia Navarro

Happy Saturday!

- I started my morning by rewatching the Captain Marvel movie. This is still an exciting and interesting movie to watch. It has action, sci-fi, mystery and a good story. For me, it answers questions while also leaving you with a few more. Carol Danvers lost years of her life while being a brainwashed Kree "hero" protecting the galaxy from skrulls. Thankfully, she kept having dreams or nightmares because it was her subconscious trying to clue her in to who she was.

I guess Yon-Rogg's reason for not killing Carol when he first found her, changed after she absorbed all that energy. He probably thought he found a new weapon that they could use in their non-stop ongoing war with the Skrulls. But after she was captured by Skrulls and they tapped into her memories, she was still confused by them but she couldn't ignore them. Were they real or fake?

Regardless, she was set on stopping the Skrulls that made it to Earth. What I love is that going to Earth made it so that she ended up uncovering the truth and regaining and understanding her memories. And like the hero she is, saved the day and planet. With the end credit scene bringing the story back to the present and to the next movie, Avengers: Endgame. Yeah, I just really love the Captain Marvel movie.

What's On Tonight (Friday 11/22): S.W.A.T., Happy's Place and Lopez vs Lopez

For now my Friday line up is still on and I'm really enjoying these show. But I'm sure they will be going into hiatus soon. For S.W.A.T., I really don't understand why Gamble is being treated so awful and being labeled a cop killer for something that she didn't even do. Why is she being punished by her so-called fellow officers for something her father did 10 years ago? If they're being biased and passing false judgement on Gamble, which again had nothing to do with her, then I wonder how those officers are treating the people they the encounter while out on patrol or during emergencies especially if they think they did something wrong.

Last week's episodes of Happy's Place and Lopez vs Lopez were so funny. On Happy's Place, Bobbie and Isabella were trying to help Gabby who was having a tough time with dating. But it ended with the Happy's Place staff having a heartfelt moment letting Gabby know how much they care about her. And on Lopez vs Lopez, Mayan realized that she didn't have any friends aside from her mother so she ended up hanging out with an old friend from high school. This resulted in Mayan learning something really good about her mother.

Now, I'll just figure which shows to watch, S.W.A.T. or Happy's Place and Lopez vs Lopez.

8:00 PM EST

S.W.A.T. season 8 episode 7: Hot Button                                 8:00 PM EST                                                 CBS

Description:

When back-to-back shootings at women's clinics leave two healthcare providers dead, Hondo and the team investigate whether the shootings were politically motivated.

Hiatus Watch: Trailer: The Day of the Jackal

With most of my shows going on hiatus, I figure it's time to find some new shows to watch. I have constantly been seeing the trailer for The Day of the Jackal and I guess the marketing is working because I want to see it. From the trailer, it looks really interesting. It has a British Intelligence Officer trying to capture a highly skilled assassin. A question I have is will she ever catch him? Also, is there any romance between these two? Because usually when there's this cat-and-mouse set up there some romance especially if they're perfectly matched. I guess to answer both of my questions, I'll have to tune in to see.

The Day of the Jackal is a 10 episode miniseries that airs on the Peacock streaming service. So far, six episodes have aired with new episodes released on Thursdays.

What's On Tonight (Thursday 11/21): 9-1-1, Doctor Odyssey, Found and Grey's Anatomy

Tonight is the mid-season finale for: 9-1-1, Doctor Odyssey, Found and Grey's Anatomy.

For 9-1-1, I hope this is the end of the Hotshots storyline but it's probably not. I don't know why there is so much focus on Brad and the Hotshots TV show he's starring in. But it's taking away screen time for other storylines and other characters: Hen, Chimney and Eddie. Hopefully tonight will be the end of it or at least the beginning of the end. I feel like Doctor Odyssey is starting to get better and for tonight's episode, it feel like it's too early in the series for there to be a pregnancy. I wouldn't be surprised if Avery had a false pregnancy because I just can't see the writers adding this storyline so soon.

On Found, I feel bad for Margaret because she's have a difficult time. And for tonight's episode, I wonder who the unwanted guest is who's going to visit Zeke? And finally is Grey's Anatomy, I was wrong about last week's episode, apparently Levi did ask James to go with him to Texas. I certainly wasn't expecting what happened with Mika's sister Chloe. I'm sure Mika is going to feel so guilty that she survived the car accident and her sister didn't. For tonight's episode, it looks like Jo and Lucas are going to run into trouble just by simply running an errand.

8:00 PM EST

9-1-1 season 8 episode 8: Wannabes                                 8:00 PM EST                                                 ABC

Description:

Things get messy for the 118 following a massive pipe explosion. Athena investigates the brutal beating of a man found behind a grocery store.

Nesting: Howard "Chimney" Han using the KonMari Method (9-1-1)

When watching TV shows, I like to see how characters' homes are decorated or organized. On most shows, the characters homes are truly spotless. Everything is all tidy and clean. So, it's interesting to see when a character is actually cleaning or organizing their home. For me, this time of the year always feels like the perfect time to declutter. From going through my closets or any other areas that need uncluttering, it just feels wonderful organizing my home. And getting rid of excess stuff not only frees up space but also relieve a bit of stress from seeing so much stuff cluttering up your home.

There are so many tips and techniques you can use to help you get organized. For instance 9-1-1 character Howard "Chimney" Han used the Marie Kondo "KonMari Method" to clean and declutter his apartment in the episode Stuck (season 2 episode 14). While he was recuperating after he had been stabbed by his soon to girlfriend Maddie Buckley's abusive husband Doug. During his many weeks of healing, he was cleaning his apartment which included sorting through his clothes. In using the KonMari Method, he handled each item to see whether or not they sparked joy. And if so, he would fold the clothes he kept. And for the ones that didn't, he put the clothes in a pile to most likely donate.

It's pretty interesting to see organizing scenes on screen especially when most characters' homes are so perfectly tidy and spotless.

What's On Tonight (Monday 11/18): 9-1-1: Lone Star, Superman & Lois, Rescue: Hi-Surf and Brilliant Minds

Happy Monday!

There's only four shows for tonight: 9-1-1: Lone Star, Superman & Lois, Rescue: Hi-Surf and Brilliant Minds. Although The Neighborhood and Poppa's House are on tonight, both are showing repeat episodes.

On 9-1-1: Lone Star, I'm sure T.K. and Carlos will end up caring for T.K. little brother Jonah now that T.K. stepfather Enzo will more than likely go to prison. I hope Tommy will get to heal and eventually go back to being Paramedic Captain again. I know Fire Captain Owen had a different type of cancer than Tommy but he never had to stop working at the 126. I hope Tommy will return as Captain by the end the series.

With Superman & Lois, I have mixed feelings about Clark having to tell the world that he's Superman. That secret was one of the few things that allow Clark and his family a normal life. And now that it's been revealed, what's going to stop some villain from going after Clark and his family. Over the years, Superman has dealt with hundreds if not thousands of horrible ruthless villains which is why this felt like such a terrible decision. Anyway, it looks like things are going to get messy with Lex Luthor trying to paint Lois in a bad light. Lex Luthor is horrible and continues to harrass the Kent family because he feel he has been wronged instead of taking responsibility for all the horrible things he does. Hopefully, this will end well for Lois.

For Rescue: Hi-Surf, it's an early Christmas episode. And according to the description Sonny doesn't think Laka is ready to become a lieutenant. But Laka has definitely grown since the first episode, he's not as irresponsible as he was initally shown. I sure once he keeps proving that he's changed, he'll get a chance for a promotion. And it looks like things are heating up with Will and Em but until Will ends things with Julie, this is not going end well for Emm.

And finally is Brilliant Minds, Dr. Oliver Wolf has a new patient who is either dealing with Dementia or something else. Last week's episode has either start of something between Dr. Wolf and Dr. Josh Nichols or they were simply fulfilling the wish of Dr. Wolf's late patient. There's also the spark of something possibly a love triangle in the making with Dr. Van Markus having a crush on Dr. Ericka Kinney who has a crush on Dr. Jacob Nash. So we'll see how this will work out.

8:00 PM EST

9-1-1: Lone Star season 5 episode 8: The Quiet Ones                        8:00 PM EST                                 FOX

Description:

A gang killing leads Carlos to new information on his father's murder. T.K. contemplates a major life decision. Owen is determined to get Austin's first responders' health care coverages increased.

Fandom Thoughts #7: Buck, Tommy's Cruelty and the Break Up Cycle (9-1-1)

I'm really interested in knowing what Evan "Buck" Buckley told Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Henrietta "Hen" Wilson about his break up with Tommy Kinard. Because whatever it was had Eddie and Hen playing keep away with Buck's phone in order to stop Buck from calling Tommy in the episode Hotshots (season 8 episode 7). I'm sure he told them that while he was in the process of asking Tommy to move in with him that's when Tommy broke up with him (back in the episode Confessions (season 8 episode 6)).

Despite Buck's moving in declaration, you could tell he wasn't in love with Tommy. Buck was just chasing love as well as him not wanting to be alone. Anyway, I just found it interesting considering Tommy was a sort of friend (acquaintance) to Eddie and Hen. However, there was no giving Tommy a benefit of a doubt from either one of them. Instead, they immediately went into protect mode for Buck. I also found it interesting that Buck was surprised by Tommy's cruelty in Confessions. I really wish the Showrunner and writers when they brought Tommy back didn't pretend like he hadn't been racist, sexist, etc. to Hen and Howard "Chimney" Han in the episodes Hen Begins (season 2 episode 9) and Chimney Begins (season 2 episode 12) because I think Buck should have learned the truth about how cruel he really was to them.

What's On Tonight (Sunday 11/17): Tracker and The Equalizer

Happy Sunday!

I spent most of the day relaxing and reading and now I'm going to watch my Sunday shows: Tracker and The Equalizer. Last week's episode of Tracker was good, it had a bit of a supernatural element to it. Because did Emmaline heal Colter witchcraft, after he was on the verge of death, after he was shot by an arrow? Or was he simply lucky that he didn't die before the paramedics arrived? Anyway, tonight's episode has Colter looking for missing campers but according to the description a serial killer might be in the area. Seems like this is going to be interest case.

And speaking of cases, The Equalizer returns tonight with Robyn and her team trying to help a hacker. According to the description the hacker is being forced by criminals to use their hacking skills. I wonder what they are being forced to hack into. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Marcus Dante returns to NYC as well as Mel going back to working with the team after she works through her trauma. I'm just wondering which episodes either story will happen in.

Anyway, here's my Sunday lineup.

8:00 PM EST
