Review:

The Heart of the Beast is very loosely based on Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. I know this is the 20th Anniversary for this comic but this was not very good. I wish the story was more interesting but it was boring and I didn't like the artwork. This is a very slow moving story. I don't need the story to be filled with tons of action but the story does need to be interesting and engaging. There was nothing that really carried this story along.

In this story, Sandra a waitress/actress is a server at an art gallery when she meets the mysterious Victor. As they are dating Sandra feels like there is something a little off about Victor. He doesn't really talk about his life and when he does it doesn't quite make sense.

It turns out Victor's past is more complex and complicated than ever and it's starting to affect his life and the treatments he undergoes doesn't seem to be working.

There was a lot of focus on art in this story but nothing really stood out.

The premise seems like this would have been interesting but the story was just so dull and boring. I really wish I could say that I liked this but I just don't.
