Book of Interest: Poison Ivy's Rainforest Revenge

I absolutely love this cover for Poison Ivy's Rainforest Revenge which is why I posted the textless version. Poison Ivy is an interesting character because depending on how she's written she's either a villain or a hero with her attention always focused on the environment.

I read a few of these Capstone DC Superhero books (which are children chapter books) and I'm interested in wanting to know what Ivy is up to. So, I will be adding this to one to my wishlist.

Book: Poison Ivy's Rainforest Revenge by Sarah Hines Stephens with illustrations by Tim Levins and cover art by Luciano Vecchio

Description:

After squashing Poison Ivy's plans to pilfer the patrons of a Gotham City gala, Batman and Robin puzzle over her foiled plot.

Why would Ivy target a fundraiser for Robinson Park -- the city's largest green space? All signs point toward the vine-loving villain's desire to let her fiendish foliage flourish freely-especially when a ferocious forest suddenly arises in Robinson Park. Now the Dynamic Duo must dash into the weird and wild woods to face Poison Ivy's rainforest revenge.

Currently Reading: Catwoman's Halloween Heist

I still enjoy watching Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League/Justice League Unlimited animated series which is why I like reading these tie-in books.

And since it's Halloween (which is one of my favorite holidays) I thought I would give this a read. Batgirl and Robin trying to stop Catwoman's Halloween hijinks.

Book: Batman: Catwoman's Halloween Heist by Eric Fein with illustration by Erik Doescher, Mike DeCarlo and Lee Loughridge

Description:

Barbara Gordon, the super hero Batgirl, has been invited to the biggest Halloween party of the year. Unfortunately, she already agreed to spend the night with Robin, her younger crime-fighter partner. Instead of arguing with her mentor, Batman, Barbara decides to bring Robin along.

That night, the teens arrive at the party, hosted by a strange collector of Halloween artifacts. Suddenly, the lights go out! When they turn on, his prized artifact, a black cat made of rare diamonds, is missing! One of the masked guests must have stolen it, and Batgirl and Robin must capture the cat burglar.

Currently Reading: The Man of Steel: Superman vs. The Doomsday Army

Even though I won't start reading this until later today. This will be the second book I will have read from DC Comics Super Heroes series. I think these books are a great way to introduce superheroes to young readers. I wonder if Lois Lane will appear in this?

I would like to thank NetGalley for lending me a copy for review. Although this is the first book that I have ever received to review, regardless, I will give my honesty opinion as usual.

Book: The Man of Steel: Superman vs. The Doomsday Army written by Laurie Sutton with illustrations by Luciano Vecchio and cover art by Tim Levins

Description:

Thousands of aliens have targeted Earth. The Man of Steel battles them back into orbit, and then opens the armor of one of the soldiers. And, inside is Doomsday! Superman continues to break open more armor with the startling surprise that all the soldiers are DOOMSDAY clones — thousands and thousands of clones! One Doomsday is bad enough, but now there are infinite Doomsdays!

Bout of Books, Day 7 Book: Wonder Woman: Sword of the Dragon

After a week of reading, I wanted the last book for the Bout of Books read-a-thon to be a fast and fun read. And why not make it a Wonder Woman story.

Book: Wonder Woman: Sword of the Dragon written by Laurie Sutton with artwork by Dan Schoening

Description:

While flying the Invisible Jet, Wonder Woman spots a message in the clouds, demanding that she head to the ancient monument of Stonehenge. When she arrives, the Amazon Princess finds dozens of tourists held hostage by Morgaine Le Fey. The evil sorceress threatens to harm them all, if Wonder Woman doesn't steal the all-powerful Star Sword of Merlin. Believing she has no choice, Wonder Woman agrees, but the task will not be easy. She must convince a guardian dragon that the sword will soon fall into the wrong hands if it is not in her own.
