Review:

This second volume includes six very interesting stories that find Michael and KITT trying to stop an armed group of mercenaries who infiltrated one of the organizations secret facilities. They also find themselves in a fight against a caravan of deadly vehicle drones as well as trying to thwart a megalomaniac from trying to get control of all the military defenses and more.

Although I liked all the stories and thought they each had solid writing, my favorite had to be the first story, Dangerous Terrain by Shannon Eric Denton with illustrations by Brian Denham, color by Milen Parvanov and letters by Steve Wands. In this story, Michael and KITT were continuing from the first volume with checking out the organization's secret facilities to make sure they had not been compromised. However, checking on a remote location out in the Nevada desert had Michael and KITT going up against a group of dangerous mercenaries who had infiltrated the facility.

It took some fancy maneuvering and quick thinking on Michael and KITT's part to not only stop the group but save themselves. I like this story, it's a well written, fast-paced action adventure. I especially like how the writer managed to create this easy camaraderie between Michael and KITT. You can see that there is a trust that is building making it easy for them to really work together and almost anticipate the next move. Which was needed when trying to stop the villains attacking them on land and from the air in high powered and heavily armed helicopters.

What made the stories that much more interesting is the banter between Michael and KITT. However, I did notice that KITT's speech pattern and personality sometime changes depending on the writer. Sometimes KITT had this human like quality to his speech while other times the car is speaking in technobabble. I also like that Tabitha (who is Michael's Bishop) was also featured more in this second volume.

This was a good read especially if you compare it to the first volume which only had one out two stories that were worth reading. Although there were different artists for this book, none of the illustrations were bad, the look was rather consistent.
