Comic Book News #10: Boom! Studios New Books and DC Comics/IDW Publishing Honor Orlando Victims


So far this week, there has been a lot of great comic book news, here are few books you may want to keep on your radar:


- Boom! Studios has some new books to look out for in November and December:

In November, a new series titled Slam will focus on a team of derby racers and will be written by Pamela Ribon and with illustrations by Veronica Fish.




Meanwhile in December:

Klaus and the Witch of Winter a one-shot issue written by Grant Morrison with illustrations by Dan Mora




This one-shot Steven Universe 2016 Special #1 will focus on Lars, Sadie, the citizens of Beach City and the Crystal Gems as they hang out at their favorite donut place. It will be written and illustrated by Ayme Sotuyo, T. Zysk, Queenie Chan, Sara Talmadge and Katie Jones.




Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #10 a special standalone issue written by Kyle Higgins with illustrations by Jon Lam that will focus on Billy the Blue Ranger. Here is the description for the issue: As someone who tends to shy away from conflict and confrontation, Billy feels like the least likely candidate to protect Earth. When he first receives his Power Coin, he’s constantly afraid of not being prepared, and it’ll take a carefully strategized battle and the support of his friends to feel like a true member of the team.






- DC Comics and IDW Publishing will be co-publishing a special comic book to honor the victims of the Orlando Shooting. According to reports, the book titled Love is Love proceeds will benefit Equality Florida and its fund for those affected by the June 12 attack at the Pulse nightclub in Florida.

The book will be priced at $9.99 and will contain over 100 stories, featuring some of the following creators include Damon Lindelof, Cat Staggs, Patton Oswalt, Phil Jimenez, Amanda Deibert, Olivier Coipel and many more.
