Comic Book News #7: Wonder Woman/Bionic Woman series, New Thor Series and more

- In July, I reported on the Wonder Woman and Bionic Woman comic book and now there is more information available. The series will be titled Wonder Woman '77 Meets The Bionic Woman and will be co-published by DC Comics and Dynamite Entertainment. Writing the series will be Andy Mangels with illustrations by Judit Tondora and the first issue will be available on December 7th.






- A few of this year's Harvey Award Winners are:

* Tom King won Most Promising New Talent for his work on the Marvel Comics series The Vision.

* Fiona Staples received an award for Best Artist for the Image Comics series Saga.

* Laura Allred received an award for Best Colorist for her work on the Marvel Comics series Silver Surfer.

* Image Comics received awards for Saga and Paper Girls received an award for Best New Series.

* BOOM! Studios' received several awards for their anthology “Peanuts: A Tribute to Charles M. Schulz” and for series March: Book Two and Lumberjanes.




- DC Comics will be publishing a new four issue Supergirl miniseries titled Supergirl: Being Super. The miniseries will focus on Kara's earliest days on Earth and will be written by Mariko Tamaki with illustrations by Joelle Jones. The first issue will be available on December 28th.






- The Mighty Thor (Odinson) is Back, well not really but sort of in the new series The Unworthy Thor. The series which will be written by Jason Aaron with illustrations by Olivier Coipel will follow Thor's adventure as tries to prove his worth and reclaim his use of Mjolnir. However, according to reports it will not be the hammer that Jane Foster is currently using but a different one. The series is scheduled to begin in October.
