Fashion Meets Comics: 3 Kimberly Hart Outfits (Power Ranger)

Since the weekend, I've been rewatching the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and I found each of the Rangers to be inspirational for a Fashion Meets Comics post. But first I thought I would start with Kimberly Hart a.k.a. the Pink Power Ranger who was a busy student, gymnast, activist and superhero.

After watching several episodes I would categorize Kimberly's style as being California girl meets athleisure. Her clothes had a super cool, casual vibe that reflected the 90s fashion trends of crop tops, short shorts, mini dresses, vests, overalls, denim jackets, floral prints, etc. all mixed in with her signature color.

I love her laid-back style it was fun and girly and she had so many looks that I couldn't settle on creating just one. I ended up with three very quintessential Kimberly looks.

Outfit #1: Power Rangers Movie

This outfit was inspired by the one she wore in the first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie (see picture above). Instead of going with a sleeveless crop top, I paired a white long sleeve button down shirt with pink shorts. And for another option I chose pink pants to go with the top.

One-Pocket Button-Up Shirt                             $49.90                 Express (express.com)

Twill Trouser Pocket Shorts                    $39.90                   Express (express.com)

Mid-Rise Pop-Color Rockstar Jeans                  $34.00 (sale, regular price $34.94)             Old Navy (oldnavy.gap.com)

Outfit #2: Athleisure

Whenever she was practicing her gymnastics or teaching an aerobics class at the Angel Grove Youth Center Gym and Juice Bar, she always wore fashionable yet functional fitness clothes. And that's what inspired me to put together this outfit.

Go-Dry V-Back Tee                    $18.00 (sale, regular price $22.94)               Old Navy (oldnavy.gap.com)

C9 Champion Seamless Adjustable Cami Sports Bra                $16.99             Target (target.com)

The Back Gathered Legging                $80.00            Beyond Yoga (beyondyoga.com)

Outfit #3: School

A denim jacket paired with a pink floral mini dress, felt like a typical look she would have worn to school or even on a date with Tommy.

1969 Denim Jacket                                     $55.96 (sale, regular price $69.95)           Gap (gap.com)

Floral Print Swing Dress                     $12.90                                 Forever 21 (forever21.com)
