Nesting: Lydia Martin's Bedroom

Home décor inspiration can be found nearly anywhere and it's no surprise that we find it in some of our favorite TV shows and movies. My latest inspiration is Lydia Martin's bedroom from Teen Wolf's sixth season 11th episode "Said the Spider to the Fly".

I always think it's amazing how a set decorator/designer is able to create a room that perfectly represents a character. Lydia's style is very girlie and it's reflected in her bedroom but compared to the rooms she's had previously, the one in the sixth season is vastly different. Not only is it smaller but it also has a more mature yet still youthful look.

The color scheme of her small and cozy room is very understated with a mixture of cream, beige and white. Her queen size canopy bed may be the focus of the room but there are some other items that I wanted to focus on and I also found pieces that have a similar look.

1. Loveseat

It's a good-sized loveseat that's accented by pillows and a stuff animal and it's the perfect place for her friends to sit on whenever they stop by. As well as a great place for Lydia to lounge on while reading a book or streaming her favorite shows on her laptop.

Colette Collection Loveseat in Flax Beige                             $599.95 (sale, regular price $749.95)                         Pier 1 Imports (pier1.com)

2. Desk

This desk is just the right size for this room giving Lydia plenty of space to accommodate her school supplies, laptop and other items without it looking cluttered.

Safavieh Writing Desk                                 $160.99 (sale, regular price $229.99)                      Target (target.com)

3. Chair

This is a very simple chair and I duplicated the look with a dinning room chair.

Azzo Plastic Side Dining Chair Set                          $142.49 (sale, regular price $189.99)           Target (target.com)

4. Jewelry Stand

This three tiered jewelry stand is probably where she stores her everyday jewelry making it easy to grab.

West Emory Three Tier Ceramic Jewelry Storage Tray                            $19.99                 Target (target.com)

5. Bench

In a small space, a bench is a great way to maximize space because not only do you get additional seating but also can use it for storing stuff underneath it.

Mid-Century Bench in Platinum                             $299.00                         West Elm (westelm.com)

6. Accent Mirrors

As with the rest of the room, the mirrors are also understated. The white washing on the big mirror causes it to nearly blend into the walls. While the smaller mirrors add a bit of whimsy and playfulness because of the different shapes.

One Allium Way Vintage Mirror                            $111.99 (sale, regular price $145.99)              Wayfair (wayfair.com)

Triangle Mirror Set                      $39.00                Urban Outfitters (urbanoutfitters.com)
