Comic Book Wednesday: March 14th Picks

Okay, this is a minor issue but it's annoying that Tim Drake is called Red Robin in the DC Rebirth since he's wearing his Robin costume. Why didn't he get a new Red Robin costume?

I have a new book on my list: Ghostbusters Crossing Over. There are a few Ghostbusters comic book characters that I'm not familiar with. I'm hoping the writing will include information about some of the characters to make it easier to understand who some of them are.

DC Comics

Detective Comics #976

Book: Detective Comics #976

Description:

'BATMEN ETERNAL' part one!

With his team completely shattered, Batman must confront Red Robin about the future of their partnership...if there even is one!

Scooby Apocalypse #23

Book: Scooby Apocalypse #23

Description:

With their new base of operations established, the gang begins the search for the last remnants of the human race! In their quest to find survivors, they encounter creatures who aren't mindless savages-and the discovery just might tear the team apart! Also: the next chapter in the outrageous adventures of Secret Squirrel!

Scooby Doo Where Are You #91

Book: Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? #91

Description:

Why is Fred always hungry, while Shaggy has nothing but traps on his mind? And why is Velma concerned with what to wear, while Daphne is consumed with books? What is the mystery behind our gang acting so unfamiliar, and can Scooby save the day? All will be answered once you fall under the spell of...the Hypno-Haunt!

Wonder Woman #42 (Frison Variant)

Book: Wonder Woman #42

Description:

'Amazons Attacked' part two!

The power of the ancient gods has returned Darkseid to his former self, but he wants more-he wants the throne of Apokolips back! But to put down the rebellions and civil war raging on his homeworld, he'll need an army more powerful than he's ever had before. That sounds suspiciously like the Amazons!

Dynamite Entertainment

Xena #2 (of 5) (Cover B - Cifuentes)

Book: Xena: Warrior Princess #2 (of 5)

Description:

Tension mounts as Xena and Gabrielle make their way to Athens and a reaction to an unexpected circumstance could separate our two unlikely companions just as their journey has begun.

IDW Publishing

Ghostbusters Crossing Over #1 (Cover A - Quinones)

Book: Ghostbusters Crossing Over #1

Description:

For a while now, the original Ghostbusters have had access to an interdimensional portal that has given them all-new ways to research the paranormal and consult with Ghostbusters throughout the multiverse... but they haven't shared this tech with any of those other Ghostbusters, and some don't think that's fair.

That's why, after a chance meeting, Jillian Holtzmann and Ron Alexander have decided to right this wrong and cobble together their own working portal... which unintentionally unleashes the contents of the Ghostbusters' Containment Unit! That's a lot of ghosts, and it's going to take a lot of Ghostbusters to recapture them. In fact, it's going to take ALL of them. Crossing Over starts here!

* Featuring the return of the critically acclaimed and fan-favorite creative team of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado! * It's like the Ghostbusters version of Crisis on Infinite... er, you know what I mean! * First issue of an 8-issue maxi-series event!

Image Comics

Sleepless #4 (Cover B - Del Duca & Sallah)

Book: Sleepless #4

Description:

After the tournament, Poppy and Cyrenic are pulled in different directions.

Marvel Comics

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #30

Book: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #30

Description:

It's the climax (IN SPACE!) of our story as Squirrel Girl (IN SPACE!) faces off against an alien armada (IN SPACE; YES, THIS IS ALSO IN SPACE; THE WHOLE STORY IS IN SPACE!).

Not just her life hangs in the balance, but also the lives of Tippy, Nancy, Loki, Drax, the Silver Surfer AND an entire planet full of squirrels, so if you believe that stakes can be raised simply by adding more characters into the mix, GOOD NEWS: YOU ARE IN LUCK!

Will Squirrel Girl survive? Will the alien grifters be brought to justice? Will we see more of Horse Thor, The Thor Who Is Actually A Horse And Who May Have Been Invented Solely For This Solicit Text But Maybe Not?

Only time, and this comic in particular, will tell!
