Should 'Supergirl's' Nia Nal Have Known Who Lois Lane is?

I noticed after the Supergirl episode "Bunker Hill" aired last Sunday that some of my fellow Lois Lane fans were upset with this scene that had Nia Nal saying "who?" in referring to Lois.

Nia not knowing about Lois is most likely a generational gap and even though Lois is regarded as an acclaimed journalist that doesn't mean that everyone within the DC Comics universe would know who she is despite the amazing articles she has written for The Daily Planet. Which is why I didn't think this scene was anything to get upset about because although Nia may be an up-and-coming reporter at CatCo Worldwide Media (she was formerly a political speechwriter in Washington, D.C.) that doesn't mean she would have necessarily known who Lois is.

Of course Kara Danvers would know who Lois Lane is (besides being a great reporter) since Lois is dating her cousin Clark Kent. While Brainiac would also know who Lois is (was) since he's from the future and he's an advanced artificial intelligent being who knows practically everything.

I saw this scene as being a great reminder that you could be the best at something but that doesn't mean everyone will know who you are.
