Fashion Meets Comics & Fandom: 3 Summer Looks (Nakia, Pepper Potts and Rory Gilmore)

Summer is about fun, sun and relaxation and not to mention cute summer clothes. I was inspired by Nakia, Pepper Potts and Rory Gilmore to create three summer looks. What I love about each of the characters' outfits is that they are effortlessly stylish from a colorfully printed jumper to a modern hippie look each outfit gives you that feel of summer.


Nakia (Black Panther)

Even while trying to convince King T'Challa that Wakanda could do more to help the world, Nakia looked amazing in this African print green one shoulder jumper. I love this, the jumper has a casual yet sophisticated feel that could easily go from day to night.

I love the print, it's so beautiful which is why I was disappointed I couldn't find something like it. Since getting the look was a little difficult I did find something that had a similar feel. It's a one shoulder green jumper minus the print but to give the look a more Wakandan feel, I accessorized it with a bead bracelet. I included two options below.

Pepper Potts (The Avengers)

Pepper forgoes her usual corporate look for this laid-back and casual outfit while spending time with Tony Stark late night at Stark Towers. It's almost weird to see Pepper so casual but it shows that she doesn't take herself too seriously and that she knows how to relax.

This classic look is so easy to recreate since it's a simple white button down shirt paired with denim shorts. Two fashion staples that never go out of style and paired together you have a relaxed look you can rock throughout summer.

Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life: Summer)

My favorite bookworm might have been down on her luck in the Gilmore Girls revival but Rory wore this fun and festive hippie outfit while her and her mother Lorelai were at the Stars Hollows community pool and while they were roaming around town. This look is all about summer fun.

Rory's look might appear a little hodgepodge but it's so cute and all the colors go together to make this such a fun look. I couldn't quite recreate this look so I used it as inspiration. I found a top that had a similar shape but since it featured a print I paired it with shorts in a solid color. I made sure to include a tie-dye vest that's in complimentary colors.
