Book Girl: Fashion Meets Fandom: Bree Davenport's Mission Suit (Lab Rats)

Do you guys remember the Lab Rats TV series? One of the things that I loved about the series was that each of the bionic superhero siblings Adam, Bree and Chase Davenport and their step brother Leo Dooley had mission suits that were pretty cool. Each of their suits were in a combination of gray, black and red and out of the four, I thought Bree's catsuit was the most suited to her powers of super speed. She's the fastest person on Earth and I believe there is only one person who maybe faster and that's Skylar Storm, an alien superhero from the planet Caldera.

Bree's mission suit is sleek and form-fitting and designed to cut down on wind resistance while running. Unlike her three brothers, Bree's suit doesn't have any noticeable body armor, perhaps it's incorporated into the material.

The only thing I didn't like about her suit was the heeled boots, although stylish they were so impractical even if they were probably reinforced. I never understood why some female superheroes' suits include heeled boots, it feels so outdated.

Since you can't walk around wearing a superhero suit unless you're Cosplaying, I was inspired to transform Bree's mission suit into a fitness or athleisure outfit. In creating the outfit, I tried to keep the look of her suit by pairing a gray jacket with a black sports bra (you could replace it with a black t-shirt) and black leggings.

I figured if you can't be a superhero, you can at least get the look.
