Nesting: Marion Ravenwood's Shot Glasses (Raiders of the Lost Ark)

If there is one lesson Indiana Jones' Marion Ravenwood would want you to learn, it's this: don't challenge her to a drinking contest. You will certainly lose your money and pass out from your efforts. She took over running the bar, The Raven following the death of her father Archaeology Professor Abner Ravenwood and I think the drinking contests add a little excitement to her life running a bar in a small village in Nepal. Her high tolerance for alcohol may have been an unfair advantage but it goes to show never make a bet you're afraid to lose.

(Raiders of the Lost Ark)

I always thought Marion would have made an excellent archaeologist because she's smart, skillful, has a sense of discovery and is very knowledgeable about artifacts. However, aside from the thrill of adventure, I don't think that would have been the life for her because she doesn't like following someone else's orders and the general mundane everyday task of the field would most certainly have bored her. However, I could see her being an explorer traveling the world or being an anthropologist studying people.

(Raiders of the Last Ark)

Running The Raven might not have been the most exciting job but it was hers until it was burned down by Nazis. Marion is such an amazing character, however, I wouldn't recommend taking up drinking contests but I would recommend taking a little inspiration from the bar's glassware. Marion has a hard nosed, no-frills practical sensibility about her and I wouldn't expect anything different from her barware. I found two shot glasses that would have fit in perfectly at The Raven while also adding a bit of old school vibe to entertaining at home.
