Fashion Meets Comics and Fandom: Five Favorite Coats

I'm all about the warm summer weather and clothes but once it starts to cool down and become chilly, I'm totally focused on fall and winter clothes especially coats. I love looking at all the different styles and colors. I'm always getting inspired by looks and I also can't help noticing when a character is wearing a really nice coat as well. So, I decided to focus on some of my favorites. Since there are so many characters with great coats I narrowed this post down to five, however, I will create a few more Favorite Coats post for all the other characters. But for now here are some of my favorite coats.

Double Breasted Trench Coat

Billy Johnson (Run)

I haven't finished watching Run yet so I'm not quite sure what the real reason is for Billy Johnson running away from his life and withdrawing all of his money from the bank. However, in the few episodes I've watched he does have this really nice trench coat. Usually this coat style can be rather structured, but I like that he kept it more casual and that he paired it with a striped hoodie.

Peacoat

Dr. Joan Watson (Elementary)

You don't need to be a detective or use deductive reasoning to know that Dr. Joan Watson's peacoat is amazing. What I love about this coat is that it adds polish and sophistication to any outfit. This the perfect length because if she needs to run after suspects, Dr. Watson doesn't have to worry about getting tripped up by a longer coat.

Princess Coat

Selina Kyle (Batman Returns)

After Selina Kyle became more confident and acquired a new alter ego, her wardrobe changed. She no longer wore boring and drab clothes but instead wore beautiful statement pieces like this black and white princess coat. I just love how this voluminous coat adds an instant glam to her look and pairs rather well with her chaotic energy.

Overcoat

General Armitage Hux (Star Wars)

I may not be a fan of General Armitage Hux, he is evil but I do love this magnificent coat. It has a very structured and serious look that I feel goes perfectly with Armitage who is a very serious and meticulous person. I think this coat totally elevates not just his First Order uniform but his evil image.

Wrap Coat

Sophie Moore (Batwoman)

I really love Sophie Moore's wrap coat, it's sleek and sophisticated and the dark plaid only adds to the glam. This is a coat that would make any outfit look stylish and put together and it gives off a smart and take charge energy which is perfectly suited for her.
