Happy Fourth Day of the Month! (+ a Geeky Holiday List)

Happy Fourth Day of the Month (formerly known as the 4th of July)!

This is the second year celebrating this new holiday. I used to celebrate Independence Day or the 4th of July but how can I when it continues to be meaningless especially with the steady and continuous loss of our rights. So, now I celebrate the Fourth Day of the Month, it gives me time to reflect and simply enjoy the day. Also, spend time with my family and friends and eating good food. I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy some of the Fourth Day of the Month's sales but I might see if there's something I want to get.

I noticed that many others are not celebrating the former holiday as well and some of the things many said they're doing are:

- Boycotting the former holiday
- Speaking out against our constant loss of our rights
- Going on a monetary strike (by not buying anything today)

Since it's the Fourth Day of the Month, I created a Geeky Holiday List to celebrate. It features the fourth episode of each season of several shows.

Art of the Day: Ryan Wilder (Batwoman)

Artwork: Ryan Wilder by Miranda (spampisharpe)

It's still disappointing that Batwoman was cancelled by The CW and even more disappointing that it wasn't picked up by another network or streaming service. This was a good show.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #23: Batwoman and Buck and Taylor

It's Friday, what fandom thoughts are on your mind?

- I can't believe The CW cancelled Batwoman, it's such a good show. From now on whenever I like a show that I watch, I'm going to make sure I write something about it or review the episodes regularly. It's so disappointing when good shows get cancelled. I really wish more viewers had given it a chance or another chance after the first season. I know some viewers didn't like the first season but when the show introduced Ryan Wilder as the new Batwoman for the second season, it truly felt like a new show. And the third season was even better than the second, this show kept getting better and better. I doubt it will happen but I would love if another network or channel would pick it up.

It's being reported that The CW also cancelled Legends of Tomorrow. Despite getting behind on watching the show, it was still really good. It's sad to see both of these DC Comics shows being cancelled.

Batwoman Season 2 Promo Pictures

Yesterday, The CW released two new Batwoman season two promo pictures of actress Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder a.k.a. the new Batwoman. I'm super happy to see these pictures because I've been wondering what her Batsuit would look like. I think the suit looks amazing, I'm glad they kept the Batwoman signature black and red colors instead of trying to create something new.

I can't wait for the second season of Batwoman, I really hope it'll be good.

Fashion Meets Comics and Fandom: Five Favorite Coats

I'm all about the warm summer weather and clothes but once it starts to cool down and become chilly, I'm totally focused on fall and winter clothes especially coats. I love looking at all the different styles and colors. I'm always getting inspired by looks and I also can't help noticing when a character is wearing a really nice coat as well. So, I decided to focus on some of my favorites. Since there are so many characters with great coats I narrowed this post down to five, however, I will create a few more Favorite Coats post for all the other characters. But for now here are some of my favorite coats.

Double Breasted Trench Coat

Billy Johnson (Run)

I haven't finished watching Run yet so I'm not quite sure what the real reason is for Billy Johnson running away from his life and withdrawing all of his money from the bank. However, in the few episodes I've watched he does have this really nice trench coat. Usually this coat style can be rather structured, but I like that he kept it more casual and that he paired it with a striped hoodie.

Meagan Tandy at the DC Comics Headquarters

Are you guys watching the Batwoman TV series on The CW? I'm really enjoying the show even though I am a few episodes behind, I have to get caught up. Anyway, actress Meagan Tandy who currently stars as Sophie Moore on Batwoman, recently posted pictures of her visit to the DC Comics Headquarters in Burbank, California.

These are some really cool pictures, do you have a favorite one?
