Happy Friday evening, what are your fandom thoughts for today?
- When 9-1-1: Lone Star returns for the third season, I hope the characters Firefighters Marjan Marwani, Paul Strickland, Mateo Chavez and Police Officer Carlos Reyes will get more scenes. Honorable mentions goes to characters Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega, 9-1-1 dispatcher Grace Ryder and her husband Firefighter Judd Ryder for receiving slightly more screen time compared to the four mentioned above. As much as I really like Firefighter Captain Owen Strand and his son Paramedic T.K. Strand, they both get a lot of screen time and I just hope that the other characters will receive more in the new season.
- I don't know why the Gilmore Girls character Lorelai "Rory" Gilmore is hated by so many fans. From the first to the final episode (including the Gilmore Girls revival A Year in the Life), she has been criticized as being spoiled, selfish, immature and a few other things. What I don't understand is that Rory was never presented as being perfect yet she's considered one of the most hated characters by fans.
Her faults were never glossed over such as when she rightfully got in trouble for stealing a boat. She reacted poorly after receiving some very harsh criticism from someone she admired and instead of ignore it, she along with her boyfriend Logan Huntzberger decided to steal a boat. She got arrested and ended up having to do community service. While Logan due to his parents' connections got him off without any charges. Rory made a lot of mistakes throughout the series (some she learned from while others she totally missed the point of) but fans still seem to have this notion that the show presented her as this perfect little angel who could do no wrong. I did notice that sometimes the main characters of shows tend to be hated by fans and I have no idea why. From Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw to Teen Wolf's Scott McCall, the main characters tend to be overly analyzed and their faults magnified.

- I get the screenplay writers for the MCU Spider-Man movies were going for something different by having Peter Parker's love interest as Michelle Jones instead of just having Zendaya play Mary Jane Watson. It's been stated that Michelle is the MCU version of Mary Jane, however it would have made more sense for her to simple by Mary Jane instead of a random character they created just for the movies. Unfortunately this made it easy for some fans to dismiss Michelle because she's not Peter's canon comic book girlfriend. I've seen where some fans have said that Peter will meet the real MJ (Mary Jane Watson) when he goes to college because they don't consider Michelle to be his love interest. I still don't understand why Michelle Jones' name wasn't simply changed to Mary Jane Watson, it would have made so much sense. She still would have been the canon character but with a different take on her personality.

- I would love to know what's continuing to fuel this reboot craze? Is it simply money or nostalgia? It was just announced that the cult classic movie Lost Boys was getting a reboot and I can't understand why? Why not not just create a new vampire story instead of remaking one. There are so many screenplay writers out there trying to sell their stories but Hollywood executives keep remaking the same ones over and over again. We are truly living in an unimaginative time of entertainment.
