Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #18: Netflix's Marvel Shows, 9-1-1's Ana and Taylor and Romantic Comedies

Happy Friday! What are some of your fandom thoughts?

- I just found out that the Netflix Marvel shows are going to be leaving Netflix which means I have 18 days to watch Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher. I had planned to watch all six shows back in 2019, I wrote a post about it. But for some reason I never got around to it until now. Let this be a cautionary tale, don't wait around to watch something you really want to see, watch it as soon as possible. As of now, I'm currently on the ninth episode of the first season of Daredevil and I'll finish watching the rest of the season tomorrow. And I'll also start on the second season tomorrow as well.

- I know this is a random pairing or crack ship but I think Dr. Ana Flores and Taylor Kelly from 9-1-1 would have been a good pair. At the end of the fourth season final episode Survivors, they were both at Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz's homecoming party and I feel like that should have been at least the start of a friendship between them. They both seem like characters who either don't have any friends or could use more of them. I don't know why the writers didn't make them friends it would have given them a chance to exist without being centered around their boyfriends.

And speaking of boyfriends, I found it interesting that Ana and Taylor were written into extremely lackluster relationships with Eddie Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley respectively. I couldn't help thinking that Ana and Taylor would have been better off dating each other. They both have qualities that compliment each other and I think they work for the same reason a relationship between Buck and Eddie would. I feel it was a wasted opportunity before Ana was written out of the show to not have created a friendship and possibly more between these two.

- I hope the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy movie Marry Me does really well at the box office and receives a good number of viewer on Peacock because I feel like this genre of movies don't get the attention it once did. It would be nice to see more big budget romantic comedies being made. There is another one being released next month that I'm also looking forward to seeing, The Lost City which stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt. I think both movies look awesome and I can't wait to see them.
