Happy Friday! It's been an interesting week, which is why I'd love to know what are some of your fandom thoughts?
- One of my pet peeves is when comic book superhero/villain characters have on random regular clothes over their costumes. I don't know, it's just something that annoys me. It ruins the look of the costume and it looks weird.
- It's being reported that actor Dylan O'Brien is not going to appear in the upcoming Teen Wolf movie. I figured he wouldn't because he's so busy with so many other projects. So far there has been no information if Tyler Hoechlin will make an appearance in the movie as well. If not, perhaps they just put in a nice little line where Stiles Stilinski and Derek Hale are off working on a supernatural case somewhere else.
- Something I would love to see on 9-1-1 whether it's this season or next season is Police Sergeant Athena Grant and her husband Fire Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash taking a vacation or a belated honeymoon. Athena and Bobby definitely need a relaxing break and since it's 9-1-1, the couple's vacation wouldn't stay relaxing for very long. Odds are they would end up having to either solve a mystery or save someone all while trying to enjoy their vacation. Regardless, they still need a vacation.
- And speaking of 9-1-1, the show's second half of the fifth season has gotten so much promotion that it makes me wonder if the network and the showrunners must have known that the first half was so bad that it wasn't worth promoting. Now compare that to how the second half is being promoted, from pictures to interviews. I find it interesting that even the actors are doing more to promote show this time. They certainly didn't make much effort to promote the first half that's for sure.
- I can't believe I missed posting something yesterday for Buffy the Vampire Slayer's 25th Anniversary. It premiered on March 10, 1997 on The WB. I love this show but I haven't watched it in awhile, it may be time for a rewatch. As with any show, there are episodes I absolutely loved and ones I didn't. For instance, one of my least favorite episodes is the sixth season musical episode, Once More, with Feeling. I'm just not a fan of musical episodes on non-musical shows. I can barely tolerate the Psych seventh season episode Psych: The Musical. I do have an exception to that rule and it's Henry Danger: The Musical episode, that one I really enjoyed.
Anyway, back to BtVS, this is such a good show, Buffy and her friends went through a lot during the seven seasons. In the first episode, Buffy might have been reluctant to go back to being the Slayer (after everything that happened in the movie) but once she accepted her role there was no stopping her. She even made the ultimate sacrifice to save the day (even if she was brought back to life). Buffy the Vampire Slayer really is a fantastic show.
