Fashion Meets Fandom: Rey Palpatine (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker)

One thing I noticed in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy is that Rey Palpatine's clothes always seemed like they were very comfortable. And I'm sure being a Jedi or a Jedi in training as she continued to be in the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker, the last thing Rey probably wanted to worry about was uncomfortable clothes while trying to deal with Kylo Ren, The First Order and the return of her grandfather Sheev Palpatine.

In the beginning of Rey's story or journey in The Force Awakens she probably wore whatever comfortable item she could find or scraped up enough money to buy from vendors or stalls while living on the desolate planet Jakku. I'm sure whether it was stylish or fashionable didn't factor into her decision because whatever she was wearing was a necessity.

I figured once she joined up with the Resistance she was able to find better (and cleaner) clothes. Although both of her outfits in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker were more stylish that what she wore in The Force Awakens they also had a lot more durability to them. Since this Fashion Meets Fandom is about her outfit from The Rise of Skywalker, I will focus on that.

Her outfit is pretty similar to the one she wore in The Force Awakens, except it's cleaner, better designed and more streamlined and in better quality fabric and material. It's a rather simple outfit: a cap sleeve t-shirt with a hood, capri pants, belt (and holster) and a really long scarf. She completed the outfit with brown ankle boots.

I was inspired to create a Fashion Meets Fandom for Rey's outfit. Since I couldn't find a hooded t-shirt, I found the look with two different pieces: a fitness t-shirt and a sleeveless hoodie. They can be wore together or separately (however the hoodie would still need some sort of top underneath it since it has large openings on both sides) while paired with capri leggings.

For accessories, I included a belt and scarf which I figure would add a bit of Rey like style if worn only with the t-shirt and capri. However, they could also be worn with the t-shirt and sleeveless hoodie combination but then it seemed like it would be too much. To complete the look, pair it with brown ankle boots.
