Entertainment News #13: 9-1-1: Lone Star, Spider-Man, Cancelled Show and Indiana Jones

- In some unexpected news, 9-1-1: Lone Star will be moving from Monday at 9:00 PM EST to Tuesday night at 8:00 PM EST when the show returns for the upcoming fourth season on January 17, 2023. I like the idea of Lone Star moving to 8:00 PM on another night because the show actually did really well when it was at that time slot for the beginning of the third season. And since the original 9-1-1 is the current place holder for that time on Monday, it makes sense to move Lone Star to another night.

- Actor Daniel Kaluuya will be voicing Hobart "Hobie" Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk for the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animated movie. The movie is set to be released in theatres some time in June 2023. As excited as I am to see the first Into the Spider-Verse sequel, I really wish more voice actors would get cast for these big animated movies.

- It's being announced that Netflix has cancelled the TV series Partner Track after one season. It's disappointing that this show was cancelled, so many networks and streaming services don't even let shows find an audience anymore along with a lack of promotion before they cancel a show. With Netflix always cancelling so many shows, I wonder if actors will start to pass on auditioning or accepting roles for the streaming service's shows?

- Author Kwame Mbalia is creating Freedom Fire, a new middle-grade imprint for Disney-Hyperion. The author is known for his mythology based Tristan Strong book series which is published by the Rick Riordan Presents imprint at Disney-Hyperion. Freedom Fire is expected or planning to publish chapter books, novels and graphic novels and will feature stories of Black resilience and Black joy, written by Black creators, and is tentatively scheduled to debut in spring 2024. The aim for the imprint is to acquire stories from Black authors around the world, celebrating diasporic culture.

- According to reports, Lucasfilm is developing an Indiana Jones TV series for Disney+. It's suggested that the show could be “set in the world of the globe-trotting archaeologist in general meetings with writers of late.” So far, no writer has been attached to the project and no more information has been released and it's not yet known if actor Harrison Ford will appear in show.

Whether Ford will appear in the show or not, his highly anticipated fifth Indiana Jones movie will be released next summer on June 30, 2023. Not to be forgotten there was a The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (also titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones) that aired in the 90s which Ford did make a cameo in. I watched this series a couple of years ago and I really enjoy it.
