Entertainment News #20: Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special, Gossip Girl, M3GAN, K.C. Undercover, Bel-Air

- The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always 30th Anniversary Special will premiere Wednesday, April 19th on Netflix. According to reports, the special will have the Rangers reuniting to deal with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.

Starring in the special are David Yost (Billy Cranston/Blue Power Ranger), Walter E. Jones (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger), Catherine Sutherland (Katherine "Kat" Hillard/Pink Power Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocco "Rocky" DeSantos/Red Power Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Yellow Power Ranger) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park/Black Power Ranger).

The special will also feature Barbara Goodson (who was the voice of Rita Repulsa), Richard Horvitz (who was the voice of Alpha 5) and a surprising new character Minh (played by Charlie Kersh) who is the daughter of original Yellow Ranger Trini Kwan.

- The Gossip Girl reboot has been cancelled by HBO Max after two seasons. The upcoming second season 10th episode which will air on Thursday, January 26th will serve as the series finale. I was planning on watching this but never got around to watching it. So, this week, I going try to watch it before the show ends because who knows how long it will still be on HBO Max after the final episode airs.

- The horror sci-fi movie M3GAN is getting a sequel titled M3GAN 2.0 and it's scheduled to premiere in theaters on January 17, 2025. Screenwriter Akela Cooper who wrote the first movie will also be writing the sequel and atresses Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will be reprising their roles Gemma and Cady.

- Happy belated 8th Anniversary to K.C. Undercover. The show premiered January 18, 2015 on Disney and ran for three season. It starred Zendaya as high school student K.C. Cooper who was recruited as well as her younger brother Ernie (Kamil McFadden) by her parents Craig (Kadeem Hardison) Kira (Tammy Townsend) to be a spy in a secret government agency. They are assisted in their spy jobs by robot Judy (Trinitee Stokes) who blends in with family as the youngest child. This is still one of my favorite Disney shows because it had a good combination of action, humor, family moments and interesting spy missions.

- Actress Tatyana Ali is cast in a recurring role in the second season of the Peacock series Bel-Air which is a reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Ali starred in the original Fresh Prince as character Ashley Banks. However, for the reboot will be playing Mrs. Hughes, an English literature teacher at Bel-Air middle school who will be a mentor to the new Ashley Banks.
