Fandom Friday: Fandom Random Thoughts #39: Buck and Eddie and Wild Cards

Happy Fandom Friday! Yeah, I know, I haven't posted a Fandom Friday since last year. Anyway, here are some of my random fandom thoughts:

- This has been on my mind today, I really don't want to see Natalia and Marisol, the boring and bland love interests for Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley in the upcoming 7th season of 9-1-1. It's going to be a chore watching those scenes because there is absolutely no chemistry between Buck and Natalia and Eddie and Marisol. I don't understand why the Showrunner and writers would choose these lackluster characters as Buck and Eddie's love interests? When instead they could have created a groundbreaking romance between Buck and Eddie, two 30-something best friends who found love with each other.

- I watched the new CW TV series Wild Cards, and I really liked the first episode The Infinity Thief. The episode was funny and clever and the main characters have amazing chemistry. Now, I can't wait to watch the second episode. The show follows Max Mitchell who is a total con artist. And after she was arrested, she ended up working with Police Detective Cole Ellis, who really didn't want to work with her, to solve a very interesting mystery. And after solving that mystery, Max and Cole will be working together solving ever more mysteries.

I'm already loving this show and I want the writers to dig deeper into Max's story because there is definitely something going on. This show reminds me of White Collar, which is another one of my favorite shows. White Collar centered around a con artist working with the FBI to solve mysteries. Yeah, there's a lot of similarities and Wild Cards so far is just as fun and charming. I feel like this is going to be one of those underrated shows but I hope viewers will tune in to watch it. Wild Cards airs Wednesday at 8:00 PM EST on The CW.
