Throughout the episode Buck's jealousy was on full display and he was being a jerk towards Eddie instead of welcoming him to the team. Buck might have felt threatened about his position on the team because during the early parts of his probationary period, he was a bit of a screw up. And probably thought someone as competent as Eddie was being described would be much better at the job than him. But there was no need to take out his issues on Eddie. As Eddie said, they were on the same team.
Normally when two characters have issues with each other or in Buck's case one character that has one-sided issues with another character. It's not usually resolved in one episode. But thankfully all it took was Buck and Eddie having to remove a bomb from an elderly man's leg for them to sort through their issues.
It's easy to see how smitten they both were with each other after they said they would have each other's back. And this was the beginning of their wonderful friendship that has grown into a beautiful strong connection. Which is why a lot of fans (myself included) hope that their connection will grow into a romance between them. For six seasons, fans have been drawn to their amazing chemistry and connection and have been rooting for them to go canon. There might have been a little bit of a spark and smitten energy at the beginning but it's the strong, supportive and loving relationship that they have built up and created over the years. That makes everything between them so special. Which is why I have been completely invested in their relationship and continue to hope that they finally get the chance to go canon.
I really enjoyed participating in Buddie Week, I look forward to doing this again. Until then Buddie fans, we keep celebrating our favorite couple and hope that one day we get to celebrate them going canon.
