Storytime: Auli'i Cravalho reading "Moana and the Ocean"
I absolutely love Moana, it's an amazing movie and actress Auli'i Cravalho (who voiced Moana in the movie) is continuing the magic of story by reading the children's book Moana and the Ocean. With beautiful illustrations and an easy-to-read story, what's not to love? I think young readers will love either listening to this story or reading it for themselves.

Music: Moana Soundtrack + Why I love buying Soundtracks?
I hope I'm not boring you with all my Moana posts but this will probably be the last one at least for a while. I don't know if you remember me mentioning in another post that I ordered the soundtrack. Well, it showed up in the mail yesterday. I love this soundtrack, it's a perfect fit for dare I say a perfect movie. Moana is easily my new favorite movie, I may have to go see it again.
Something that may or may not surprise you is I don't buy a lot of music. I'm totally okay with listening to the radio or SiriusXM when I'm driving around. However, when I do buy music it's mainly movie soundtracks. I absolutely love listening to the score from the movies, sometimes the music is fast-paced with tons of energy then surprisingly it segues into something slow and soft. It's very interesting listening to the orchestral music because it's telling the story without the use of words.
However there is one downside, sometimes especially in action/superhero movies the music is drowned out by the loud sound effects making it nearly impossible to hear it. Which is why if I like even a portion of what I can hear being played I'll generally buy the soundtrack. Sometimes I don't even have to like the movie to buy the soundtrack i.e. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. For such a terrible movie it has a great soundtrack. And if a soundtrack is exceptionally made you get the perfect feel of experiencing the movie. For instance the other day I was listening to Captain America: The Winter Soldier soundtrack. Now that is a really good one, I totally recommend listening to it. The score truly captures the movie and I feel it represent the modern and pulse pounding time that Cap is in especially if you compare it to the score for Captain America: The First Avenger where the music had this earnest to it.
Something else that may or may not surprise you is that whenever I do buy music it's in the form of a CD. I don't really like to buy digital music because you don't get anything such as booklets, posters or anything else that might come with it. I guess it's the same tangibility (and visual) thing I have with buying books. What can I say I love the advancement of technology except perhaps when it comes to books and music.
I enjoy listening to nearly all genres of music but when it actually comes to purchasing music, then soundtracks are my must have. For me they're the best.

Toy Corner: Funko Moana and Pua
Moana and her adorable pig Pua are the newest Funkos added to my collection. Are they not the cutest?
I found this one similar to how I found Captain America: Civil Black Panther and Black Widow, Moano was wedged behind a group of less popular Funkos. At first I wasn't going to buy it but after searching through the shelves again, I realized this was the last one.
Why is it someone's always trying to hide Funkos? Don't do it, someone will always find them.

Books of Interest: The Story of Moana and The Art of Moana
I'm really looking forward to seeing Moana when it's out in theatres which by the way is next week. I love that Disney is adding more diversity to their Princess collection by including Moana and Elena.
Now while I wait for the release of the movie, I've found a couple of Moana books that interest me, one is a middle grade book featuring stories while the other is an art of book. I just love art of books they're filled with beautiful art and behind the scenes information.
Book: The Story of Moana: A Tale of Courage and Adventure by Kari Sutherland
Description:
Book: The Art of Moana by Jessica Julius and Maggie Malone
Description:
The Art of Moana is the latest title in our exceptional series showcasing artwork from the creation of Walt Disney Animations' latest releases. Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world ventured across the Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped—and no one today knows why.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios, Moana is a CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui and together they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds. The stunning artwork in this behind-the-scenes book includes character designs, storyboards, colorscripts, and much more.
