Review:
I'm really surprised by the mixed reviews for this. The Bigger Bang feels like a nod to those old comic books filled with classic space adventures. It's well written, dramatic and humorous.
In this book, Cosmos is considered one to be feared because they believed he destroyed a universe but instead he was created when said universe was destroyed. Despite all the times he has saved worlds countless times he can not escape their fears of him.
There is also evil King Thulu who is not only trying to destroy a world where the citizens do not care to be ruled by him but also trying to stop Cosmos. When his plan to attack Cosmos didn't go to plan, Captain Wyan refused to attack him after she observed him during a rescue. Upset with her for not going through with his command, the King tasked Captain Wyan with finding him and giving him an offer to serve the King.
King Thulu wants to use Cosmos in his reign to conquer and control the universe. As Captain Wyan spends more time with Cosmos she is starting to realize that blindly following the King's order is not all it cracked up to be.
Okay, the story may not be super original but it's interesting with this lone hero trying his best to help. I thought the artwork had this gritty, messy, scratchy, elsewhere feel to it that just seems to work for it.
This was a fun read.
