30 Days of Geek Chic, Day 2: A "Self-Rescuing Princess" Mug

I've never been a fan of the Damsel-in-Distress scenario with the female characters being shown as nothing more than that.

I do feel like a lot of good changes have happened over the years to counteract that with women being shown strong, self-reliant and capable of saving themselves. They are their own heroes. That's not to say that help will never be needed but they know when and if they need to ask for it.

Which is why I love this "Self-Rescuing Princess" mug, the message is perfect.
