Fashion Meets Fandom: The Lord of the Rings Sweater

I really like this dark green sweater, and I'm thinking of getting it. It's got a nice shape and it looks very flattering. And not only does it look cute and cozy but it has a subtle geeky nod to The Lord of the Rings with the Lórien Leaf embroided on it. I love wearing my geeky t-shirts that have the graphics all bold and bright but sometimes I want something a little subtle. Which is why I like this Lord of the Rings sweater.

And depending on where you work, you could just put a blazer over this sweater and pair it with pants and wear it to work. And not to mention you could dress it up with a nice pair of pants or a skirt like the models are shown wearing in the pictures. Or you could wear it cute and casual with a pair of jeans or leggings. However this is paired up will probably look really cute. It's very geek chic.

Fashion with a Cause: Raised by Libraries T-shirt

I love going to the library and I've been going every since I was a child. I just love roaming through the aisles looking at all the books. I just think it's so important to support my local library.

Earlier today when I was doing a little on-line window shopping, I found this Raised by Libraries T-shirt. I wanted to post it because not only is it cute but what I like that proceeds help Out of Print fund literacy programs and book donations to communities in need. This is why I created my Fashion with a Cause post because even in little small ways, it's still helping to make the world a better place. Especially now with all the terrible things happening in the world.

Fashion Meets Star Style: Chris Colfer's Read Banned Book Pin

I was scrolling through some of the Oscar or Academy Awards pictures when I spotted author and actor Chris Colfer who was attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party yesterday (March 10th). And what caught my eye was the Read Banned Books pin he was wearing. For me, protecting the freedom to read never goes out of style. So for this Fasion Meets Star Style, I found a very similar pin that just might be the one he wore on his suit. I think this pin would be a fun accessory for nearly any style. And remember to support and read banned books.

Fashion Meets Fandom: Tinker Bell Dress

I've been a fan of Tinker Bell ever since I watched the Disney Peter Pan movie. She's feisty, impulsive, slightly hot-headed and has an unwavering crush on Peter Pan. I also love watching those Tinker Bell movies and throughout each movie you get to see a little more to her character especially in the first one. Also throughout the movies, you see how creative and inventive Tinker is especially since she's a Tinker Fairy.

Well this post isn't about the character but this really cute Tinker Bell pattern midi dress that I found (it's posted below). There's nothing like a cute spring or summer dress especially with a subtle Tinker Bell and floral pattern. I like the simple shape and light green color that's flattering for nearly everyone.

This is an easy breezy comfy looking dress that feels like a summer staple. And I think it would look cute with nearly any shoe: flip flop, sandals, heels, gym shoes, wedges, etc. And for cooler nights, pair it with a lightweight sweater, denim jacket or blazer.

Fashion: Bookshelf Tote Bag

I love finding bookish things and I'm constantly on the hunt for anything and everything bookish or geekish. And I'm sure my fellow bookworms do as well. Which is why I love sharing the things I find such as this really cute Bookshelf tote bag by Out of Print. I like that it's colorful and has the titles of classic books on it.

I admit I've been slacking a bit with posting my finds but I'll make sure to post more of the bookish and geekish things I find.

Free Comic Book Day 2018

Every year it seems like there are more and more people who show up at my local comic bookstore for Free Comic Book Day. Yesterday, was fun and exciting with so much energy in the air from all the people looking around taking in everything. I didn't mind standing in the long lines because it was great seeing so many people and kids who were happy picking up books. Despite the store being so packed, I did manage to pick up a good selection of free comics.

Aside from the free comics, I also bought a few things: a Spider-Gwen pin and Funko Sesame Street Burt and Ernie figures. I also bought a Spider-Pig sketch from artist Terrell Culbert. I wanted to buy something from him at last year's FCBD but I didn't make it out there because I had been sick with a cold. So this time I made sure to get a sketch from him.

Yesterday really was fun, I enjoyed walking around the store looking at stuff and talking to other comic book geeks. If you're still on the fence about attending Free Comic Book Day, maybe think about going next year. Hopefully, you will have as much fun as the rest of us comic book geeks.

Her Universe New Doctor Who Collection

This is why Her Universe is one of my go-to geek stores because they are always coming out with fun and unique items. I can't wait for their new Doctor Who collection. From a cozy cardigan to a retro halter dress, this collection puts a geeky spin on classic fashion pieces.

I love this, it's such a chic way to do the whole geek thing. I wonder when the collection will be available at Her Universe. But until then, there are a few additional Doctor Who Her Universe pieces (cropped cardigan, plaid skirt and trench coat) that are available at Hot Topics.

Fashion Meets Comics: A Kira Yukimura Inspired Outfit

How can anyone not like Teen Wolf's Kira Yukimura? She's a total sweetheart and not to mention a butt kicking slayer of evil. I would describe Kira's style as geeky meets girlie punk. She wore a lot of leggings, cute tops, hoodies and jackets, short shorts, mini skirts and dresses in various patterns and prints. And paired her wardrobe with either combat boots, knee high socks, tights, high top sneakers or ankle boots.

I took some inspiration and created an outfit I thought Kira would have worn. A black distressed sweatshirt paired with black and white Avengers leggings. It's something fun and casual, total geek chic.

Nesting: Star Wars R2-D2 Tea Set

This is so cool, the set includes two cups, two saucers and a tea pot. I know I'm a total geek and it's little things like finding this R2-D2 tea set that warm my geeky little heart. I may have to get this.

What do you guys think, is it a great find?

Fashion: A Babar Tote Bag

I love tote bags, I have so many of them in my closet from the plain and colorful to some featuring my favorite characters on them which includes my two favorite Wonder Woman bags. I especially like bookish tote bags like this Babar's Yoga for Elephant (which by the way is an all ages yoga book). Isn't it cute with Babar doing all these different yoga poses.

Nesting: A Nerdy Reindeer Pillow

I don't usually like to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving but I saw this pillow and had to post it. Isn't it cute? A nerdy little reindeer wearing glasses. I love it, this is definitely my sort of quirky style.

Nesting: Captain America Teapot

Have you ever found a product that was so absolutely you. Well for me, that would be this Captain America Teapot. As an avid tea drinker and a big Captain America fan, this is something that I would love to have. Red, White and Blue with the stars and stripes in all the colors of Cap's classic uniform.

I really do love how bright the colors are and I can't help thinking how this could cheer up any dreary fall day.

So, Cap fans, is this teapot a must have? It's definitely going on my wishlist.

Nesting: A "Go Away I'm Reading" Mug

Why is it when you're reading that's the moment when someone wants to talk? It would be rude to say what's on this mug but that is the feeling that an interrupted reader generally has. This is cute, just look at the little glasses on the inside of the mug. I certainly don't need another mug but I am thinking about buying this.

I really love finding things that are fun and unusual. This is very Geek Chic.

Toy Corner: Funko Patty Tolan (Ghostbusters) + A Cute Graphic Print Hoodie

It must have been my lucky day when I was at Target yesterday. While roaming through the Pop Culture section I spotted this Funko Ghostbusters Patty Tolan. I looked for the other Ghostbusters characters but she was the only one I found and not to mention the only one on the shelf. I can't believe this is the first Funko I've bought since June and I'm glad it was Patty. Plus in a way it feels like a great way to show support for Leslie Jones.

Funko Patty wasn't the only thing I found, as I was walking through the kids section (yes, I do sometimes like to look around that section, I have found some cute items every now and then). Anyway, I immediately spotted this Cat & Jack Cat Print Hoodie. Isn't it cute, it was only $10.00. Not a bad find I think it's very Geek Chic. I like it because it's not the same old basic boring hoodie.

Fashion Meet Comics: A Bombshells Wonder Woman Swimsuit

If I was heading to the beach this summer this would be the suit I'd wear. My summer is mostly going be a staycation with me enjoying my city. Regardless, this suit is really cute and I love the retro design. The inspiration for this two piece suit is based on DC Comics Bombshells Wonder Woman.

I like it, it's different and very eye catching. The sizes for both the top and bottom are available in XS to XXL.

Geek Chic: A Yoda Tote Bag

There is a good reason why Yoda is known as the most wisest of Jedi, besides his hundreds of years of experience, he's always dishing out good advice. In need of Yoda's wisdom, Her Universe has the perfect little tote bag for us Yoda fans.

It's simple but not boring. I love that it has one of Yoda's most popular sayings on it "Do or Do Not. There is No Try".

Geek Chic: WWE Naomi Official T-Shirts

WWE Diva Trinity Fatu may not be on the current season of Total Divas but she now has some official merchandise. Even since her character Naomi has been turned into one of B.A.D. girls and created a trend with her glowing shoes that she wears while wrestling, her character's popularity has increased even more.

When the merchandise announcement broke on Twitter a few days ago, fans couldn't stop tweeting about finally being able to buy Naomi merchandise. The first items to be offered at WWE Shop are "Feel The Glow" T-Shirts which are available in Women, Men and Youth sizes.

Geek Chic: Wonder Woman Fleece Top

I really like this but it is a little pricey for a sweatshirt. I would most likely wait until it goes on sale to get it. This would look cute with jeans but also with a black pencil skirt. Do you think pairing it with a pencil skirt would make it work for Casual Friday? Just a thought.

Geek Chic: Jem and The Holograms Sleepwear

I'm a fan of the 80's classic Jem and The Holograms which is why I love these Jem inspired night clothes. Sorry kiddies these are only for adults.

I don't know what I love more all the bright colors or the bold prints found on the pants. Either way, I think I'm going to have to buy one. However, as much as I really love these, I do hope The Misfits sleepwear will be next.

Geek Chic: A Clyde the Tortoise Tote Bag (Elementary)

How cute is this? I so want this.

This bag checks three boxes for me, one because I'm a huge fan of Elementary. The second is for Clyde and third because I love tote bags (I have a lot of them).
