Nesting: Roller Skate Mug

I saw this roller skate mug (below) and it immediately made me think of the character Dorothy "Tootie" Ramsey from the classic TV series, The Facts of Life. In the first season of the show, Tootie was always wearing one of her multiple pairs of roller skates in various styles. From zipping around the private school Eastland to hanging in the common areas of the dorm to even attending classes she was never without her skates.

This Barbie Malibu Comic Mug is so cute, it definitely has an 80s vibe to it. And it feels like a fun summer mug, yeah you can use it all year long but it's just very summery. I also love all the colorful illustrations, as a comic book fan all it feels like they reprinted a page from a comic.

As a Barbie fan, I really like this, I may have to get it. It's certainly a mug I'd use to drink my tea as well as I'd just love to add it to my ever-growing mug collection.

Nesting: Our Flag Means Death Mug

There is now official Our Flag Means Death merchandise. As soon as I found out, I had to post it. I don't know when the collection (which so far only has six items) launched but now fans can finally get official merchandise. And I know the first thing that I want, it's this mug. I love it, one side has the show's name/logo and "Every Captain Needs a Mate". While the other side has the second season promo image of Stede and Ed/Blackbeard in a heart shape.

No surprise I want this, I love mugs and watching Our Flag Means Death, so of course this would be the first thing I'd get. I do hope at some point a tote bag will be released because that's also something I would get.

Depending on what you're a fan of, sometimes there's a lot of merchandise (official and unofficial). While other times there's very little or none at all. So, as a geek, there's no surprise I like finding interesting or fun fandom things. It's just nice having a little something from your favorite fandoms.

As some of you might know (especially if you visit Book Girl often), I love mugs. I have so many of them from regular to fandom ones. I was searching through Society6 looking at mugs when I found this Buffy the Vampire Slayer mug. I really like it because it has all these little symbols and icons that represent the show. It's Buffy the Vampire Slayer without stating it.

I love noticing recurring home décor little details in shows for instance, the sleek and sophisticated gray mugs that Evan "Buck" Buckley uses. The first time I noticed the mugs were back in 9-1-1's third season 16th episode The One That Got Away. Since then, the mugs have appeared throughout the series with the most recent in the sixth season 4th episode Animal Instincts.

Whether he's drinking out of them alone or guests using them such as his big sister Maddie (season 3 episode 16), his then girlfriend Taylor Kelly (season 5 episode 14: Dumb Luck), his friends and co-workers Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han (season 5 episode 17: Hero Complex) and an old friend Connor (season 6 episode 4). Since I couldn't find the exact mugs that are used on the show, I found some that were similar.

Book Challenge: Matching Books and Mug

There's this fun book challenge going around where you post a picture of books that match the color of a mug. I love books and mug, so I thought I'd join the challenge and post something too. I went with two blue mugs because the six books that I ended up picking from my shelves were a combination of both blues.

I know I need to stay off the Harry Potter Shop website because I always find something that I want, like this Slytherin mug. I'm not the biggest Slytherin fan but I really like this mug. I like all the little details from the symbols to the Slytherin house traits including the snake on the inside of the mug.

Why am I always looking at mugs? And it's not like I don't already have plenty of them but that doesn't stop me from wanting to add just one more. Alright Harry Potter fans, would you get this mug?

Nesting: Hen and Karen Wilson's Mrs. Mugs

I just love when set designers/decorators add items that perfectly reflect the characters on shows. For instance, these Mrs. and Mrs. mugs that Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and her wife Dr. Karen Wilson were using in the 9-1-1 fifth season episode May Day. The mugs are sleek and minimalist and perfect for drinking out of as Hen and Karen question whether Paramedic Jonah Greenway was responsible for the death of 9-1-1 Dispatcher Claudette Collins.

To get the look, I found a similar mug but in gold lettering. It still has the same minimalist design but the gleaming gold accent gives it that pop of something extra. This mug might not be an official 9-1-1 set piece but it's the closest I can get to finding.

For some reason, I didn't realize that yesterday was Friday the 13th. I was completely unaware which means I missed all the Friday the 13th movie marathons that aired yesterday. I know at some point, I'm going to have to buy the movies on DVD so I can watch them whenever I want.

Anyone else a Friday the 13th fan? Well, at least actress Tracie Thoms who is a fellow Friday the 13th movie fan totally celebrated the day by wearing a Jason Voorhees t-shirt along with a mug. I can't believe it never crossed my mind what day yesterday was.

Anyway, happy Saturday the 14th everyone!

Nesting: Sailor Moon Luna Mug

I love watching Sailor Moon and I always found it interesting that Luna the cat tries her best to help Serena without losing her patience with her young charge. But Serena is so loony and lazy that Luna really has her work cut out for her in trying to guide her.

As soon as I saw this Luna mug, I wanted it. But I know I don't need another mug but I haven't bought one in a while. And by a while, it's been over a year. I keep finding really cute mugs but I haven't bought any of them. Which is why I wouldn't mind getting this one. I think it would be fun to drink my tea out of it. But I don't know.

Nesting: X-Men Coffee Maker and Mug

I don't even like coffee but I love this X-Men Coffee Maker which also includes a mug. I would just use it to heat up water for tea instead of turning on the stove for the kettle. I'm really thinking about getting this but as I said I already have a tea kettle. It's just as X-Men fan, I really want this but I know I don't need it. I do know that if I had a home office (I envy any of my fellow nerds who has one), I would definitely put it in there. I don't know, is this something you'd get?

I know I don't need another mug, especially since I'm still thinking about whether or not I should get the Station 19 mug I posted a few days ago. But I really like this Hogwarts mug and all the colorful objects and symbols associated with the magical school. Looking at this mug, makes me want to rewatch the movies. Since I don't have time for that today, I can at least watch the first movie.

Nesting: Station 19 Mug

In a few more weeks, Station 19 will be back, the fifth season returns on Thursday, September 30 on ABC. And I can't wait. I love this show, there is so much drama and there is always something happening with all the characters.

Until then, I was thinking of getting this mug that has promo art from the fourth season. I love finding official fan merchandise because sometimes a fandom can be popular but there's no official products. So, it's nice when you can find something. I really like this mug, I think it would be pretty cool drinking my tea out of.

A Hamburger Mug

I like finding items that are symbolic of a fandom or character such as this Hamburger (which looks like a cheeseburger) Mug I spotted. It immediately made me think of Archie Comics' Jughead Jones and Scooby-Doo's Norville "Shaggy" Rogers because both have an extreme love of food which of course includes burgers.

I know I don't need any more mugs, it's becoming an obsession, but I think this humongous mug (it's 26 oz) is pretty cool and it truly symbolizes these two bottomless pits love of food.

A "Gilmore Girls" Lorelai and Rory Mug

Gilmore Girls was another "new to me" TV series because I didn't watch it when it originally aired not like my mother who is a huge fan but I watched it sometime later after it had ended. At the time my mother would talk about Gilmore Girls but I wasn't interested in watching it. That is until one day I finally did and since then I have been a big fan, I even bought the series on DVD. What I like about the series is that it showed that Lorelai and Rory (and the other characters) were not perfect and that goes for their mother-daughter relationship. And not to mention Rory is the ultimate book nerd.

Even though Gilmore Girls had a revival show on Netflix (which I still need to watch) there is not a lot of merchandise for this series. I do wonder when the show was at it's height of popularity if there were more items. The WB Shop has a few things but I wish they would get more because there are always new fans who are looking for their own little piece of Stars Hollows.

By now if you visit my blog on the regular basis, you know that I love mugs (I still need to post my Party Cats mug that I bought a few weeks ago). I like this mug, it features the mother-daughter dynamic duo Lorelai and Rory. As a Gilmore Girls fan, I would love to include this mug in my collection.

Nesting: A Party Cats Mug

I love mugs, I have quite a few in my growing collection that includes superhero mugs to whimsical ones like this Party Cats mug (which I just ordered, I'll post it once I get it).

These cats are so adorable and I love them all. From the black and white cat wearing cat-eye glasses to the extremely grumpy cat wearing a party hat. It's things like this that easily put a big smile on my face because it's so cute.
