Why Doesn't Wonder Woman Have More Animated Movies?

It's been nine years since the Wonder Woman animated movie which starred Keri Russell as the voice for Wonder Woman, was released on DVD/Blu-ray. And a sequel has still yet to be released, I don't know why because fans (myself included) really liked the movie and not to mention Warner Bros. recently re-released it with a redesigned cover.

At this point I doubt fans will ever get a sequel to that movie but if that's the case why hasn't there been any more animated movies released? Wonder Woman has a plethora of stories that could be adapted into animated movies. So there should not be any problem in finding stories. And with the LEGO animated movies so popular why hasn't she gotten one of those as well? I also don't understand why Wonder Woman has never had an animated series or got another live action series? Well, they did at least attempt another live action series back in 2011 but it was so terrible it didn't even make it to air but that should not stop them from trying again.

And seeing as Wonder Woman is one of DC Comics most popular characters and even more so after the success of the movie. The movie which was released in theatres last year (June 2, 2017) starred Gal Gadot as the titular character. And yet it's hard not to see how over looked the character has been. Because unlike Batman and Superman who have a long list of animated movies and TV series, Wonder Woman has only one animated movie (2009), one TV movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby as Wonder Woman (1974) and one TV series starring Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman (1975-1979). And that's it.

As a Wonder Woman fan, it's so disappointing because the character should have had more to show for in this medium. Over the years, the character has been included in several animated movies as part of an assembled cast but she only has one animated movie. Thankfully the live action movie will be getting a sequel but so far that is all that's been announced.

Maybe there are more things in the works but until something else is announced, what do you think it will take for Warner Bros. and DC Comics to finally focus on Wonder Woman and give her more animated movies?
