Book of Interest: Clueless: The Official Cookbook

Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend?

I spent the weekend relaxing, a few moments outside, de-cluttering and organizing and re-watching Power Rangers. And for today, my love for fandom cookbooks continue. I recently bought a few Downton Abbey cookbooks and now I'm thinking about getting this Clueless cookbook. It's been a while since I've watched the movie but I do remember a few scenes that had food. And well as Cher always trying to make sure her father was eating healthy food. Below is small list of some of the recipes that are in the cookbook, I wonder what other ones are in this.

As a fan, I love getting these fandom inspired cookbooks, it's interesting to see what recipes are used. And whether they actually something crafted and created to tie-in to the show, movie, etc. or are simply just random recipes with Clueless related names added on.

Book: Clueless: The Official Cookbook: Totally Delicious Recipes Inspired by the Film by Kim Laidlaw and with Illustrations by Lisa Maltby

Description:

Clueless comes to the kitchen with this officially licensed cookbook, featuring 50 totally delicious recipes, iconic movie quotes, full-color images from the film, and much more. Use it to make your ’90s-themed gatherings even more legit, or for meal ideas anytime you’re feeling a little clueless.

Witty, charming, privileged Cher Horowitz leads the pack at her Beverly Hills high school in Amy Heckerling’s cult classic Clueless. Through the eyes of style-obsessed Cher, we join in the fun of makeovers, the rollercoaster ride of crushes and friendships, and the social hierarchy of high school. From take-it-with-you options like Gnarly Skateboarder’s Breakfast Sandos to homemade versions of snack foods that litter the lunch tables at Cher’s school (Off-the-Diet Popcorn, anyone?), the recipes in this cookbook bring the personalities and narrative of Clueless to life alongside images from the film and lush food illustrations.

Some of the featured recipes include:

- Beverly Hills Yogurt Parfaits
- Party in the Valley Pretzel Bites
- Family Dinner Rosemary Focaccia
- Gooey Baked Brie with Crudites
- Total Betty Turkey “Bacon Experience” BLTA
- So-Lo-Cal Chopped Chicken, Avocado, and Herb Salad

Book of Interest: The Fashion of Clueless

I love watching Clueless, it's a fun movie that follows Cher Horowitz navigating her life while also meddling in her family and friends' lives. What I love is that she learned to stop meddling and looked inward which had her seeing how she could help make the world a little better. Aside from the amazing story, there was the fashion. And despite being a 90's movie, the fashion is rather timeless. Yeah, there are some things that scream the 90's but overall, the wardrobe is fantastic. Which is why I want to get this book, The Fashion of Clueless which is written by the movie's Costume Designer, Mona May. It looks like it's going to be an interesting read with insight into the costumes and the movie. Now I just have to be patient and wait until October when the book is released.

Book: The Fashion of Clueless by Mona May with Monica Corcoran Harel

Publication Date: October 7, 2025

Description:

As if! Revisit the iconic plaids, statement hats, and chic dresses from Clueless with this behind-the-scenes look at how costume designer Mona May created a unique and unforgettable on-screen world through fashion.

Ever since hitting screens in 1995, Clueless has reigned as one of the most inspirational fashion films of all time. From Cher’s sunny yellow plaid Jean Paul Gaultier skirt suit to her sleek, fitted red Alaïa dress, every outfit defined a teen who revered fashion as much as her friendships. Add to that BFF Dionne’s legendary head-to-toe looks and a few magical makeovers, and Clueless was cemented as a classic film with incredible clothes at its core.

Celebrate the movie’s thirtieth anniversary with costume designer Mona May, who—alongside fashion writer Monica Corcoran Harel—shares her creative process and her collaboration with actors to make every character come alive. Step inside May’s design studio and fitting room to hear how she conceptualizes costumes from silhouette to ensemble. Whether thrifting through Los Angeles or pulling straight from the runways of Paris, May reveals how she selected and sourced high and low pieces for all your favorite characters including Cher, Tai, Dionne, Amber, and Christian.

Featuring behind-the-scenes photos, production stills, and intimate chats with key cast and creatives such as Alicia Silverstone and director Amy Heckerling, this book explores how personal style reveals a persona—and includes tips for creating your own main character looks. This compelling and stylish book is perfect for fans of pop culture, fashion, design, and art and is a record of the enduring cultural impact of the film.

Most Memorable Scene: Cher Horowitz's Speech on Immigration (Clueless)

In the movie Clueless, Cher Horowitz may not seem like she is smart but she is. She just has a different way of understanding things because during her debate class she was part of a debate on immigration. Which Cher gave an interesting take on. She used the example of how she re-arranged things for her father's party (which she made work) in relation to immigration. And she closed out her speech by saying "And in conclusion, may I please remind you that it does not say R.S.V.P. on the Statue of Liberty!" Which indeed it doesn't.

Happy (Belated) 27th Anniversary, Clueless!

I can't believe I forgot to write something yesterday for the 27th Anniversary of Clueless. This is truly one of my favorite movies, it has an amazing story that follows the "clueless" Cher Horowitz who think she knows what's best for everyone in her life. Alicia Silverstone was pefectly cast as Cher as well as the rest of the cast.

I think the movie was a wonderful modern adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel Emma (which is also a really good book). I can't forget about the fashion, although the movie was released in the 90s, the fashion doesn't feel dated. There are so many iconic outfits in this movie that it's impossible to overlook. Clueless is a fun, fashionable and thought-provoking movie that is a delight to watch. Happy 27th Anniversary, Clueless!

Entertainment News #2

- Actress Madeline Mantock is leaving Charmed after the current third season. As a Charmed fan, it's disappointing to see Madeline leave because older sister Dr. Macy Vaughn is one of my favorite characters on the show but I do hope there will be other acting opportunities for her. I also hope that the show will find a way to continue the Power of Three like the original Charmed series did following Shannen Doherty's departure after the third season. Funny enough, Shannen's character Prue Halliwell who was also the older sister and one of my favorite characters on the series.

Comic Book News #15: A New Clueless Comic and a Steve Trevor One-Shot

- This summer Boom! Studios will be publishing a Clueless comic book series. It will be a follow up to the hit movie that will be co-written by Amber Benson and Sarah Kuhn with illustrations by Siobhan Keenan. I love Clueless, it's one of my favorite movies, Cher Horowitz was such an adorable ditz who was also very wise and compassionate. I can not wait until the first issue is released. Here's the synopsis for the series:

It’s senior year at Bronson Alcott High School, and Cher, Dionne, and Tai find themselves in a bit of an existential crisis: Where are they meant to go, and what are they meant to DO after high school? Luckily they have all year—and each other’s help—to figure it out!

- DC Comics will be publishing a Steve Trevor one-shot titled Wonder Woman: Steve Trevor #1 on Wednesday, June 7th which is surprisingly a few days after the release of the Wonder Woman movie. It will be written by Tim Seeley with illustrations by Christian Duce and cover art by Paul Renaud.

It would be nice if this one-shot turned into an ongoing series for Steve, he's a great character that tends to be pushed to the wayside depending on the writer.
