Poison Ivy Week: Confession: Poison Ivy and the Birds of Prey

I'm starting this Poison Ivy week with a Confession. Are you ready for it? Well, here it goes, I hated Poison Ivy being a member of the Birds of Prey during the New 52. That seemed so out of character with her being placed in a team book especially since she really doesn't like people that much, with the exception of Harley Quinn (her love) and to some extent Catwoman (her some what friend). With her not exactly being a people person, having Ivy try and work with all those different heroes didn't turn out too well especially since she ended up trying to force the team to help her stop several companies she felt were destroying the environment.

Dr. Pamela Isley is smart, powerful and perfectly happy being solitary, it's how she thrives. I still feel like it was a mistake making Ivy a member of the Birds of Prey because with her strong desire to protect nature and the environment at the cost of everything else, I did not see it meshing well with the motivation of the team. Although, Poison Ivy might not be the villain she once was, there is no way I see her adhering to all the rules that come with being a hero.

Even though, I need to finish reading the New 52 Birds of Prey, I still think Ivy should not have been a member of the team.

Confessions: Donna Troy

Source:  dccomicsconfessions.tumblr.com

I can't help but agree with everything this confessor has to say. Donna Troy was a great character and she's really missing from the new 52 but I feel like now if DC brought her back she would be nothing like the cool and awesome character she used to be. So in a way I'm sort of glad she's not in the new 52.

It's better for her not to be there than to be ruined.

Confession: Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley

Source: harrypotterconfessions.tumblr.com

That's exactly how I feel. Ginny and Harry are great characters just not great together in a relationship. It felt like J.K. Rowling put Harry and Ginny together for two reasons: 1) So, Harry could marry into the Weasley family and have the loving and caring family he's always wanted and 2) So, Harry could recreate the image of his parents.

I didn't see any real chemistry between those two and it seem like it happened out of the blue. In the books, Harry barely notices Ginny in a romantic way, she might have had a bit of an infatuation with him early on but she had gotten over him. Then all of a sudden in the sixth book, they some how fall in love. It just wasn't believable. Their relationship was very under developed and resulted in it appearing rushed.

I thought they were better as friends than being paired in a relationship. But I can't change the books.

Confessions: Miss Martian

Source: dccomicconfessions.tumblr.com

I agree with this confessor because Miss Martian on the Young Justice animated series was my least favorite character. There was nothing likeable about her at all.

And like the confessor I really like the Teen Titans (pre reboot) Miss Martian, she was a fun interesting character and one of my favorite.

Confessions: Stan Lee

I agree and I love the fact that Stan Lee is so universally loved by nearly all comic books fans. Plus, I loved his guest appearance on The Big Bang Theory, that was funny.

Confessions: Batman and Catwoman

Doesn't it seem like these two confessors should be dating? Maybe they'll meet at some comic-con or on some rooftop in the future.

All joking aside, I think it's quite wonderful that they have found some inspiration to change their lives. It shouldn't matter where the inspiration comes from either.

Confessions: Percy Jackson

My thoughts exactly. I really do like the three main actors but I do wish they had chosen younger actors so they could film the entire series like Warner Bros. did with the Harry Potter movies.

Confessions: Harry Potter

Source: harrypotterconfessions.tumblr.com

I agree. I sometimes wonder how Harry's life would have been if he was in Slytherin. Would Harry still be friends with Ron and Hermione or would he had of become friends with Draco? If Ron and Hermione weren't friends with him, would he still have had the courage to defeat Voldemort? Would he have ended up with Ginny? Would Ginny still like Harry if he was a Slytherin? Just a few questions that came to mind when I think of Harry being sorted in Slytherin.

Confessions: DC Comics

Source: dccomicsconfessions.tumblr.com

I completely agree with this confession because those of us who do "complain" we don't do it just to do it. The new 52 hasn't been the best books by far and we really just wish those books and characters would get better. And for some they have gotten worse (case in point Tim Drake).

I love these confessions because the fans just pour their hearts out about whatever they love or loathe.

Confessions: Harry Potter

I found this on the internet and I can agree with who ever posted this confession on the Harry Potter Confessions site. I truly think the HP books are really wonderful to read.
